1. Technical Competence . a. The project team's overall technical competency The overall concept of our proposed project team is based upon simplicity. Spillis Candela DMJM is a Miami-Dade County based full service Architectural and Engineering firm. We offer to the City of Sunny Isles Beach the convenience of providing all basic design services from a single local headquarters location inclusive of Architecture, Structural Engineering, MEP Engineering, and Civil Engineering. Our firm prides itself on its ability to create exciting and innovative designs while operating within the Owner's budget and scheduling requirements. Of particular relevance is the fact that Spillis Candela DMJM was the Architect, Engineer and Interior Designer for the Sunny Isles Beach Government Center and Parking Garage. In addition, the firm has been responsible for the planning and design of approximately 40 parking garages totally more than 35,000 cars throughout Florida. All projects were designed in our Coral Gables Headquarters office. It is important to note that our experience is NOT the product of multiple company offices or the compilation of consultant's experience, it is rather the product of our locally based AlE firm. The firm has been recognized by both its peers and industry through the receipt of well over 100 design awards including the American Institute of Architects Millennium Award for Design and the American Institute of Architects Firm of the Year Award. Recognizing the importance of the Heritage Park design and its integration with the Parking Garage design, Spill is Candela . DMJM has included the Landscape and Planning firm of EDAW. EDAW is an internationally recognized Landscape and Planning firm with over 65 years of service to public sector clients, including the City of Sunny Isles Beach for whom the firm is a pre-approved Landscape Architect. EDAW maintains a Miami Beach office which will facilitate the management of this project. Public sector design projects are often those that make the most immediate and tangible contribution to the overall value and the quality of life of the communities in which we live, work and practice. EDAW has been a guiding force in the fields of landscape architecture, urban design, and environmental planning since its inception. EDAW's special emphasis on the broad and increasingly complex issues of land use planning and design both encourages appropriate use of resources and enhances the environment. EDAW's landscape design projects are at all scales, from community parks to broad sweeps of property. Clients include municipalities, institutions, public agencies, corporations and architects. Their common need is resolution of a land-based problem, which is why EDAW, with its multi-disciplined staff - from planners and designers to geographers and irrigation engineers - is consistently effective. They have worked with most local municipalities, as well as FOOT and other related clients. Their reputation for quality consulting work is unrivaled in the area. Spill is Candela DMJM has worked with DPA numerous times in the past. Kaderabek Company - Geotechnical Engineering Kaderabek's is a Miami-Dade County based Geotechnical Engineering firm. Their firm is very familiar of the geotechnical conditions in and around the City of Sunny Isles Beach. Their firm has provided geotechnical consulting services in the immediate area surrounding the Heritage Park site and accordingly is very knowledgeable of the conditions that will impact this project. Keith and Associates - Surveying Keith and Associates is a South Florida based Surveying and Engineering firm. They have worked with numerous local municipalities and have also worked with Spillis Candela DMJM in the past. Construction Management Services (CMS) - Cost Estimating I Value Engineering CMS is a South Florida based Cost Estimating / Value Engineering firm with extensive public sector experience. CMS has worked with Spillis Candela DMJM on numerous public sector projects including multiple projects that have incorporated a parking garage. CMS's knowledge of the this building type and this geographic region will help our project team keep the project on budget and on schedule. b. The project manager's specific technical competency Nina Gladstone will be Spillis Candela DMJM's Project Manager for the Heritage Park and Parking Garage project. With 15+ years of professional experience, Nina offers highly relevant experience with both the City of Sunny Isles Beach and with Parking Garage projects. She has worked for a number of Florida cities and counties including Key Biscayne; Sunny Isles Beach; Lauderhill; City of Cape Coral; City of Palm Coast; Broward County; Miami-Dade County; Clay County; Nassau County; and others. Her most recent relevant experience
