<br />to recognize a speaker, secure and retain the floor for the speaker and keep order during the time the <br />floor is taken. <br /> <br />Rule 2.02. <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br />The City Clerk shall act as Clerk of the Commission. The Clerk of the Commission shall call the <br />roll, prepare the minutes and shall be custodian of the records and shall certify all ordinances and <br />resolutions adopted by the Commission, and perform such other duties as required by the City <br />Charter. <br /> <br />Rule 2.03. <br /> <br />CITY ATTORNEY <br /> <br />The City Attorney, or such member of the office of the City Attorney as may be designated, shall be <br />available to the Commission at all Commission meetings. The City Attorney shall act as <br />parliamentarian, and shall advise and assist the presiding officer in matters of parliamentary <br />procedure. <br /> <br />Rule 2.04. <br /> <br />SERGEANT-AT-ARMS <br /> <br />The City of Sunny Isles Beach police chief, or such other city official or employee as the chief may <br />designate, shall be the sergeant-at-arms of the Commission meeting, at the request of the presiding <br />officer or the City Manager. The sergeant-at-arms shall carry out all orders and instructions given by <br />the presiding officer through the City Manager, for the purpose of maintaining order and decorum at <br />the meetings. <br /> <br />PART 3. <br /> <br />MEETINGS <br /> <br />Rule 3.01. <br /> <br />REGULAR MEETINGS <br /> <br />( a) The Commission shall hold regular meetings on the third Thursday of each month, or <br />as otherwise designated by the City Commission, and when the day fixed for any such regular <br />meeting falls on a day designated by law as a legal holiday, such meeting may be held on another day <br />selected by the Commission, or such meeting may be canceled at the discretion of the Commission. <br />Unless otherwise determined by the Commission, regular meetings shall commence at 7:00 P.M. <br />Regular meetings may be otherwise postponed or canceled by resolution adopted at a regular meeting <br />by a majority of the Commission members present. All regular and zoning meetings shall be held in <br />the Commission Chambers at 17070 Collins Avenue, Suite 250, Sunny Isles Beach, Florida 33160, <br />or such location as may be approved by a majority of the Commission members present and shall be <br />open to the public and all news media. <br /> <br />(b) Hearings on zoning applications shall be scheduled as part of regular Commission <br />meetings, unless otherwise decided by the Commission. <br /> <br />Amendment ofO. 98-16 Rules of Procedure <br />Legislation!
