<br />515-7 <br /> <br />515-8 <br /> <br />515-9 <br /> <br />FABRICATION <br /> <br />515-7.1 Assembly, General: Install railings true to line and level with accurate <br />angles, round surfaces and closely butted fitting joints. <br /> <br />515-7.1.1 <br /> <br />Remove burrs from exposed cut edges. <br /> <br />515-7.1.2 <br /> <br />Form elbow bends and wall returns to uniform radius, free <br />from buckles and twists with smooth finished surfaces, or <br />use prefabricated bends and fittings. <br /> <br />515-7.1.3 <br /> <br />Shop fabricate and solvent weld vinyl railing sections in the <br />longest section lengths practical to minimize cutting, joining <br />and solvent welding requirements in the field. <br /> <br />515-7.1.4 <br /> <br />Provide slip type splice connections in all horizontal rails at <br />points where railing crosses structural expansions joints. <br /> <br />SHIPPING <br /> <br />Railing shall be packaged and shipped in such a manner as to protect material from <br />damage. <br /> <br />INSTALLATION <br /> <br />515-9.1 Handrail shall be installed in accordance with the drawings, specifications <br />and instructions provide by the manufacturer. <br /> <br />515-9.2 In the event of field modifications, all pipe cuts shall be square and <br />accurate for minimum joint gaps. Cuts shall be clean and straight, free of <br />"chamfer" from deburring, burrs and nicks. <br /> <br />515-9.3 Railing sections shall be spliced and solvent welded in accordance with <br />the manufacturer's standard instructions and recommendations. <br /> <br />515-9.4 Fastening to In-Place Construction: Adjust vinyl railing system work <br />before securing in place to ensure proper notching at butting joints and <br />concrete alignment throughout in length. Plumb posts in each direction. <br />Secure posts and rail ends to building construction as follows: <br /> <br />515-9.4.1 <br /> <br />Anchor posts in concrete by means of non-shrink grout as <br />shown on the drawings and approved shop drawings. <br /> <br />515-9.5 Cutting, Fitting and Placement: <br /> <br />515-9.5.1 <br /> <br />Set work accurately in location, align and plumb true, and <br />free ofrack, measured from established lines and levels. <br /> <br />Page 4 of 5 <br />
