He is an innm'ati\'e technology <br />specialist in Sha\v's Technology Applications Group <br />where his principal focus is the process de\'dopment <br />and technical support for in situ chemical oxidation <br />CISCO) projects. He also prm'ides project technical <br />support for a \'ariety of additional technologies such as <br />steam injection and in situ enhanced bioremediation <br />(ISEB), primarily for chlorinated ethene sites. In <br />addition, Mr. Mott-Smith has prm'ided engineering <br />management and technical direction for Shaw's Tampa <br />office. Project work responsibilities include proposal <br />preparation, feasibility studies, conceptual designs, and <br />technical work plans and specifications for hazardous <br />\vaste site remediation projects throughout the United <br />States. Mr. ~Iott-Smith has extensi\'e project and design <br />experience with the development of innovative remedial <br />approaches for ISCO including the creation of Shaw's <br />in-house design program, cost estimating tools, <br />engineering practices and field technicjues. Before that, he served as a design re\.iew <br />engineer for wastewater treatment facilities and as a <br />resident engineer and construction coordinator for state <br />and CERCL\ hazardous \vaste assessment and <br />remediation sites. <br /> <br />Relevant Experience <br /> <br />1990 - Present, Senior Environmental <br />Engineer/Consultant, Shaw <br />Environmental & Infrastructure, Inc., <br />Tampa, FL. <br />Senior Technical Manager/Designer, Alaric <br />Superfund Site, Tampa, FL, (10/02 - Present). <br />Developed source remediation alternati\'es, remedial <br />design and cost estimate for 9-acre plume of chlorinated <br />ethenes emanating from a commercial facility in Tampa. <br />The project is managed by the U.S. Army Corp of <br />Engineers Rapid Response Program and J acksol1\'ille <br />District Office for the EP A. Prepared Remedial Design <br />and provided engineering constmction oversight of a <br />S2t\I permanganate ISCO remedy. Design, installation <br />and startup of project were completed in 10 months <br />from project inception. Currently provicling oversight of <br />system operation and optimization.
