BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT AND RELEVANCE TO THIS CONTRACT (Include scope, size, and cost)

Program Overview

Be Sure to Notice
· Remedial treatment design, installation,
operation
· Regulatory agency negotiations/coordination
· Innovative bioremediation pilot testing and
design

Shaw and predecessor companies have been a key provider of environmental
services to 7 -Eleven stores having gasoline vending operations for more than a
decade, and the total services volume provided over that period have totaled about
$87 million. 7-Eleven has 3,800 U.S. locations, of which about 2,500 offer
gasoline. Historically, 7-Eleven (and Southland Corporation, a predecessor
company) had employed 20 consultants and has narrowed the number to three
providers, Shaw being one of the three. Until recently, the scope of services related
to assessment and remediation of retail petroleum sites as well as tank replacement programs.

7-Eleven has developed with Shaw's input an Environmental Program Protocol/Operations Manual (POM) which provides for
clear definition of program procedures, authorities and responsibilities of the 7 -Eleven and consultant team members. 7 -Eleven
also has developed an electronic database called SLEDs which allows site-by-site budgeting of tasks and tracking of progress
toward achieving project milestones (e.g., no further action). SLEDs also allows for electronic invoicing and prompt receipt of
payment.

A variety of technologies have been applied to the remediation of hydrocarbon-impacted soils and groundwater, and a pilot scale
treatment system has been installed and data are being gathered at an MtBE-impacted site, In addition, services have been
provided related to real estate and compliance issues.

Due to 7 -Eleven's need to institutionalize compliance procedures spurred by regulatory requirements in the state of California,
Shaw has piloted a comprehensive Environmental Management System (EMS) and compliance audit program in California. A
"green book" which provides guidance to individual store managers has been assembled by Shaw for purposes of identifying
activities that must be conducted and recorded on daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly or annual bases. Shaw conducted training
sessions and participates in follow-up audits to determine the effectiveness of the EMS and the guidance and tools provided to
maintain compliance at the store level. 7 -Eleven plans to roll out the program to its universe of about 2,500 sores that offer
gasoline throughout the U.S.

The states in which we are currently working for 7-Eleven are AL, GA, LA, NM, OK, TN, TX, and FL for assessment and
remediation activities, and CA and NV for EMS/compliance services.

Specific Site Description

Engineering design, installation, and operation of a remedial treatment system targeting cleanup of petroleum hydrocarbon
impact reported in the soil and groundwater at the subject site. Shaw, working for Broward County Environmental Protection
Department under contract with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection, developed the remedial design for an air
sparge/soil vapor extraction system Shaw also performed the installation of the system which included well installation,
trenching, electrical and plumbing activities. Design - $50,000.00; Installation - $350,000; annual operation - $60,000.

1 FIRM NAME
Shaw Environmental, Inc.

25.
