<br />This enhancement project included coordinating multiple
<br />subconsultants, conducting several public consensus
<br />workshops, assisting city government in applying for and
<br />securing various grants, expediting environmental permits,
<br />and ultimately producing a comprehensive redevelopment
<br />plan for the 2,800-foot corridor. A key to this project's
<br />success was analyzing the condition of the aging urban
<br />infrastructure (roads, utilities, sidewalks, etc,) and
<br />developing a comprehensive redevelopment package that
<br />upgraded this infrastructure in a manner that will
<br />encourage redevelopment while spreading the cost over a
<br />number of state, federal, and local funding sources.
<br />Included within the project is a three-acre urban waterfront
<br />park including a participatory fountain, park pavilion,
<br />multilevel plaza, bulkhead, courtesy boat slips and pier.
<br />The total project implementation was funded through a
<br />variety of sources including a special assessment district
<br />for the Pointe property owners; general City revenue
<br />sources; utility and roadway funding; and grants from the
<br />Florida Inland Navigation District and the U.S. Army Corps
<br />of Engineers.

<br />of Boynton Beach Community Redevelopment Agency
<br />(CRA) for a boardwalk/streetscape project along the
<br />Intracoastal Waterway involving the extension of Boynton
<br />Beach Boulevard, This project is a part of a redevelopment
<br />effort by the CRA to improve the City's waterfront. The
<br />project consists of two specific elements: the extension of
<br />Boynton Beach Boulevard from US 1 to the Intracoastal
<br />Waterway, and the construction of a boardwalk along the
<br />
<br />Intracoastal Waterway from Boynton Beach Boulevard
<br />north for approximately 4,000 feet. This project will act as
<br />the link between the private sector and public sector
<br />redevelopment activity that has already commenced in this
<br />area.
