ON -GOING TRAINING <br />Training is a process that is never fully complete. ValleyCrest has, and will continue to develop, <br />safety related training programs that are designed to build on existing knowledge and allow all <br />levels of employees, from labor to management to continue to grow and become safer employees. <br />Courses that provide a greater understanding of OSHA, DOT and EPA standards (in particular) <br />are available and will be at the forefront of our continuing education process as we strive for an <br />even safer company. <br />Certain equipment and/or operations may require that employees attain "Certification" in order to <br />comply with manufacturers recommendations or regulatory agency requirements. <br />OSHA TRAINING <br />Below is a list of the training, allotted time and the personnel who are required to take the <br />training: <br />OSHA 10 or 30 hour training: All foremen/supervisors and above, this is an all day class. <br />(10 -hours or can be done in segments) The components include the following: <br />• Introduction to OSHA — 1 hour <br />• Hazard Communications — 2 -3 hours <br />• Lock Out / Tag Out — 2 -3 hours <br />• Personal Protective Equipment - 2 hours <br />• Fire Protection - 2 hours <br />• Electrical Safety — 1 hour <br />• Fall protection — 1 -2 hours <br />• Motor Vehicle — 1 hour <br />• Cranes — 1 -2 hours <br />• Excavation (competent person): All personnel who will be involved with <br />working around an excavation this class takes approximately 1 -2 hours, <br />Competent Person is a continuation of the excavation training and is mainly for <br />foremen/supervisors and above and takes another 1 -3 hours. <br />• Ladders and Stairways — 1 hour <br />• Power Tools — 1 hour <br />• Concrete & Masonry — 1 -2 hours <br />• Material Handling — 1 hour <br />• Scaffolding — 1 -2 hours <br />• Confined Space - Any personnel who are or may be involved with confined <br />space entry. This class is divided into 4 parts, not all personnel will need all 4 <br />parts. Training is 2 to 4 hours depending on what parts the personnel need. <br />Additional OSHA and/or mandatory training: <br />• First Aid / CPR: Foremen/supervisor and above, this class takes a full day or 2 half days. <br />(10 hours) <br />• Blood Borne Pathogens: All personnel, this class takes approximately 2 hours <br />• Defensive Driving: All personnel, 4- 8 hours depending on the program. <br />• Forklift Certification: All personnel who will operate a forklift, this training takes 2 - 3 10—(1-01 <br />hours depending upon the number of personnel in the class. # 1 N 1 <br />• Snow Removal Safety: All personnel performing snow removal - 3 hours. <br />• Drug and Alcohol Awareness: Supervisors and CDL drivers, approximately 1 houit!dileyCrest Landsc, <br />• Reasonable Suspicion Training: Supervisor s and above, approximately 1 hour. 16430 (`iW 1 <br />Miami, FL 33; i <br />Training Rev 9101104 Page 2 of 3 <br />
