ON -GOING TRAINING Training is a process that is never fully complete. ValleyCrest has, and will continue to develop, safety related training programs that are designed to build on existing knowledge and allow all levels of employees, from labor to management to continue to grow and become safer employees. Courses that provide a greater understanding of OSHA, DOT and EPA standards (in particular) are available and will be at the forefront of our continuing education process as we strive for an even safer company. Certain equipment and/or operations may require that employees attain "Certification" in order to comply with manufacturers recommendations or regulatory agency requirements. OSHA TRAINING Below is a list of the training, allotted time and the personnel who are required to take the training: OSHA 10 or 30 hour training: All foremen/supervisors and above, this is an all day class. (10 -hours or can be done in segments) The components include the following: • Introduction to OSHA — 1 hour • Hazard Communications — 2 -3 hours • Lock Out / Tag Out — 2 -3 hours • Personal Protective Equipment - 2 hours • Fire Protection - 2 hours • Electrical Safety — 1 hour • Fall protection — 1 -2 hours • Motor Vehicle — 1 hour • Cranes — 1 -2 hours • Excavation (competent person): All personnel who will be involved with working around an excavation this class takes approximately 1 -2 hours, Competent Person is a continuation of the excavation training and is mainly for foremen/supervisors and above and takes another 1 -3 hours. • Ladders and Stairways — 1 hour • Power Tools — 1 hour • Concrete & Masonry — 1 -2 hours • Material Handling — 1 hour • Scaffolding — 1 -2 hours • Confined Space - Any personnel who are or may be involved with confined space entry. This class is divided into 4 parts, not all personnel will need all 4 parts. Training is 2 to 4 hours depending on what parts the personnel need. Additional OSHA and/or mandatory training: • First Aid / CPR: Foremen/supervisor and above, this class takes a full day or 2 half days.
