1 .06 MANUFACTURERS RECOMMENDATIONS <br />A. Where installation procedures or any part thereof are required to be in <br />conformance with the recommendations of the manufacturer of the <br />material being installed, printed copies of these recommendations shall be <br />furnished to the Engineer prior to the installation. <br />PART 2 - PRODUCTS <br />2.01 MATERIALS <br />1 07/03 <br />A. The steel casing pipe shall conform to ASTM A -139 Grade B, Latest <br />Revision. Casing specifications shall conform to the Florida Department <br />of Transportation: <br />1. Florida Department of Transportation - Encasement material to <br />include uncased carrier pipe. Composition and Strength -All <br />casings shall conform to the appropriate strength and composition <br />requirements set forth in the main body of the utility <br />accommodation Guide and to the following additional <br />requirements. <br />a) Must be chemically compatible with any material it is to <br />transport or otherwise contact. <br />b) Unless otherwise tested and approved by the Department <br />prior to beginning work, all encasement pipes or uncased <br />carrier pipes shall be new and of round, smooth wall, <br />leakproof construction. Used pipe in good condition may be <br />used if approved by the local Maintenance Engineer prior to <br />beginning work. <br />c) The use of casings (not encased carriers) with wrapped <br />protective coverings will not be allowed. <br />d) All steel casings shall conform to the following minimum <br />thickness requirements: <br />16200 -2 <br />03- 1438.A <br />
