Working drawings shall be signed by a Registered Professional Engineer, <br />currently licensed to practice in the State of Florida and shall convey, or <br />be accompanied by, calculation or other sufficient information to <br />completely explain the structure, machine, or system described and its <br />intended manner of use. Prior to commencing such work, working <br />drawings must have been reviewed without specific exceptions by the <br />Engineer, which review will be for general conformance and will not relieve <br />the Contractor in any way from his responsibility with regard to the <br />fulfillment of the terms of the Contract. All risks of error are assumed by <br />the Contractor; the Owner and Engineer shall have no responsibility <br />therefore. <br />1.07 SAMPLES <br />05/04 <br />A. The Contractor shall furnish, for the approval of the Engineer, samples <br />required by the Contract Documents or requested by the Engineer. <br />Samples shall be delivered to the Engineer as specified or directed. The <br />Contractor shall prepay all shipping charges on samples. Materials or <br />equipment for which samples are required shall not be used in work until <br />approved by the Engineer. <br />B. Samples shall be of sufficient size and quantity to clearly illustrate: <br />1. Functional characteristics of the product, with integrally related <br />parts and attachment devices. <br />2. Full range of color, texture, and pattern. <br />3. A minimum of two samples of each item shall be submitted. <br />C. Each sample shall have a label indicating <br />1. Name of Project <br />2. Name of Contractor and Subcontractor <br />3. Material or Equipment Represented <br />4. Place of Origin <br />5. Name of Producer and Brand (if any) <br />6. Location in Project <br />(Samples of finished materials shall have additional marking that will <br />identify them under the finished schedules.) <br />D. The Contractor shall prepare a transmittal letter in triplicate for each <br />shipment of samples containing the information required in subparagraph <br />1.07B above. He shall enclose a copy of this letter with the shipment and <br />send a copy of this letter to the Engineer. Approval of a sample shall be <br />only for the characteristics or use named in such approval and shall not be <br />construed to change or modify any Contract requirements. <br />01340 -6 03 -4465 <br />
