SECTION 02481 <br />PART 1 - GENERAL <br />1.01 SCOPE OF WORK <br />A. Provide all labor, materials, necessary equipment and services to complete the Fine <br />Grading work, as indicated on the drawings, as specified herein or both, except as for <br />items specifically indicated as "NIC ITEMS ". <br />1.02 RELATED WORK <br />A. Plant materials to be relocated on site are designated on the drawings or as directed by <br />the Landscape Architect. <br />B. The Contractor's crew utilized for the relocation of existing trees and shrubs shall have <br />minimum five years experience in relocation of existing plant materials and be <br />recognized by the American Association of Nurserymen. <br />C. Existing trees to remain shall be protected during all construction phases as noted on <br />demolition plan. Any trees or shrubs scarred or destroyed designated to remain will be <br />replaced at the Contractor's expense, with similar species, size and quality. <br />D. Remove other trees, saplings, shrubs, bushes, vines and undergrowth as necessary and as <br />directed by the Landscape Architect to accommodate new plantings. Prepare areas to be <br />planted per Specification Sections 02484, 02487, and 02490. <br />E. Resulting tree pits and shrub bed pits of relocated material shall be backfilled with clean <br />fill and brought back flush with surrounding grade if required. It shall be the <br />contractor's responsibility to correct problems caused by erosion, wind, etc., in the <br />reclaimed area where he has dug. <br />F. In areas where new plant material will replace relocated plant material, appropriate <br />planting soil mix shall be used as backfill. <br />02481 -1 04 -4801 <br />
