ISECTION 01030 ' SPECIAL PROJECT PROCEDURES PART 1- GENERAL ' 1.01 OBSTRUCTIONS ' A. The attention of the Contractor is drawn to the fact that during construction at the Project site, the possibility exists of the Contractor encountering various water, sewer, petroleum, gas, telephone, electrical, or other lines not shown on the Drawings. The Contractor shall ' exercise extreme care before and during construction to locate and flag these lines so as to avoid damage to the existing lines. Should damage occur to an existing line, the Contractor shall repair the line at no cost to the Owner. ' 1.02 PROVISIONS FOR THE CONTROL OF DUST ' A. Sufficient precautions shall be taken during construction to minimize the amount of dust created. Wetting down the site may be required or as directed by the Engineer to prevent dust as a result of vehicular traffic. ' 1.03 RELOCATIONS ' A. The Contractor shall be responsible for the relocation of structures, including but not limited to light poles, signs, sign poles, fences, piping, conduits and drains that interfere with the positioning of the work as set out on the Drawings. The cost of all such relocations shall be included in the bid for the project and shall not result in any additional ' cost to the Owner. 1.04 WARRANTIES ' A. All equipment supplied under these Specifications shall be warranted by the Contractor and the equipment manufacturers for a period of one (1) year. Warranty period shall commence on the date of Owner acceptance. B. The equipment shall be warranted to be free from defects in workmanship, design and ' materials. If any part of the equipment should fail during the warranty period, it shall be replaced in the machine(s) and the unit(s) restored to service at no expense to the Owner. C. The manufacturer's warranty period shall run concurrently with the Contractor's warranty or guarantee period. No exception to this provision shall be allowed. D. In the event that the manufacturer is unwilling to provide a one year warranty commencing at the time of Owner acceptance, the Contractor shall obtain from the manufacturer a two (2) year warranty starting at the time of Owner acceptance of the equipment. 1 12/04 01030 -1 04 -4801
