' O'Leanj Richards Design Associates Inc. ' Representative Projects ' O'Leary Richards Design Assoc., Inc. has completed numerous projects for both public and private entities throughout South Florida. Kathryn O'Leary Richards, ASLA and William A. O'Leary, FASLA were the Landscape Architects and were involved from the initial planning through construction for the following projects: Evelyn Greer Park (formerly Pinecrest Park) ' Village of Pinecrest, Florida Evelyn Greer Park is an active 10 acre park in the Village of Pinecrest. Amenities within this park include multipurpose athletic fields (softball and soccer), batting cages, a tot lot, a recreation center ' and community gazebo. The Landscape Architects attended several community and public meetings in order to obtain public input during the master planning phase. They went on to complete the landscape architectural plans and provided construction administration for this project. The park was highlighted as one of the best playgrounds in South Florida by Parenting Magazine in 2005. This 3 million dollar project was completed on time and within budget. Aventura Founders Park Aventura, Florida Founders Park is a twelve acre municipal park located in the City of Aventura. It is bisected by N.E. 190'h Street with a 2 % acre passive park on the south side and an active 10 acre park on the north side. Amenities within this park include jogging paths, tennis courts, a combination baseball /football/soccer field, a concession building and restroom facilities, an outdoor amphitheater, custom signage, and extensive landscaping. The Landscape Architects provided landscape architectural services from conceptual design through construction administration for this project. The park was highlighted as one of the best playgrounds in South Florida by Parenting Magazine in 2005. Town Center Park Sunny isles Beach, Florida Town Center Park is a 3 acre park located on Collins Avenue in Sunny Isles Beach. This site was environmentally sensitive as it has a large tidally flushed wetland area. The Landscape Architects carefully designed this park to protect its' environmental sensitivity. Amenities within this park include a playground, a fitcenter, open air pavilion, a jogging path, a lifetrail for seniors and extensive landscaping. The Landscape Architects provided landscape architectural services from conceptual design through construction administration for this project. ' Village of Pinecrest Street Tree Planting Village of Pinecrest, Florida The directive from the Village of Pinecrest was to develop a Streetscape Master Plan that would ' create a `Coconut Grove' feeling. This required an assessment of the existing tree canopy and a plan that filled in the void areas. This was accomplished by the Landscape Architects by driving and/or walking each individual street to determine quantity of trees in relation to maintenance and mature ' spread issues. Native canopy trees and an assortment of flowering trees were used so that at all times during the year shade and color will occur. This project has helped Pinecrest become a premier residential community. This project was completed on time and within budget.
