We have included some specific references below. <br />State of Rhode Island, Economic Development Corporation (RIEDC) <br />and Business Innovation Factory (B /F, a non-profit associated with <br />Economic Development of Rhode Island) <br />Address: One West Exchange St, Providence, RI 02903 <br />Contact: Saul Kaplan, Deputy Director of the RIEDC and Founder & Chief Catalyst <br />of BIF. <br />Scope: IBM is providing a project management office for the Rhode Island Wireless <br />Innovation Networks (RI -WINs) pilot project, which is the second phase of an effort to <br />make Rhode Island the first state in the country with border -to- border broadband <br />wireless coverage. IBM will play an instrumental role in coordinating the efforts of <br />the RI -WINs pilot participants, a public /private partnership that includes over 10 <br />member firms and agencies, such as Brown University, Cox Communications and <br />Cox Business Services, CVS /Pharmacy, the Rhode Island Department of <br />Administration, Verizon Communications, and Verizon Wireless. In addition, as part <br />of the project management office and partnership with BIF /RIEDC, IBM has <br />• <br />network design, engineering and deployment oversight responsibility. <br />Project Budget: Project in process and on budget. <br />Cook County Illinois <br />Synopsis <br />Cook County, Illinois is beginning deployment of an extensive county -wide solution to <br />connect county Sheriff's vehicles and other county vehicles and users to high -speed <br />wireless connectivity. In addition, the network infrastructure built to create the <br />coverage areas is also used for video surveillance in other real -time data applications. <br />The Cisco 3200 router will be used in outdoor enclosures connected by integrated <br />802.11 links where video cameras and digital video recorders are installed, as well <br />as cabinet environmental sensors connected to router.
