Clean mortar, rust and dirt from form surfaces before placing concrete. <br />B. Before placing either the reinforcing steel or concrete, cover the surface of <br />the form with specified release agent. <br />3.06 REMOVAL OF FORMS: <br />A. When concrete surfaces are to be repaired or further finished, remove <br />forms as soon as the concrete has hardened sufficiently to resist damage <br />from removal operations. <br />B. Remove top forms on sloping surfaces of concrete as soon as the concrete <br />has attained sufficient stiffness to prevent sagging. Perform needed repairs <br />at once; then start curing. <br />C. Loosen wood forms for wall openings as soon as possible without <br />damaging concrete. <br />D. Forms and shoring used to support the weight of concrete in beams, slabs <br />and other structural members shall be kept in place until the concrete has <br />reached the minimum strength or time period specified for removal of forms <br />and shoring. <br />E. When shores and formwork framing are arranged so that non - loadbearing <br />form facing panels may be removed without loosening or disturbing the <br />shores or framing, the form facing may be removed at an earlier age as will <br />not damage the structure. <br />3.07 REMOVAL STRENGTH: <br />A. Maintain formwork in place for the following structural condition until the <br />concrete has attained either the minimum percentage of indicated design <br />compressive strength or for the period of time specified in the following <br />table: <br />B.
