PART 3 - EXECUTION <br />3.01 FORMED SURFACES <br />A. Forms shall not be stripped before the concrete has attained a strength of <br />at least 30 percent of the ultimate design strength. This is equivalent to <br />approximately "100- day- degrees" of moist curing. <br />B. Care shall be exercised to prevent damaging edges or obliterating the lines <br />of chamfers, rustications or corners when removing the forms or doing any <br />work adjacent thereto. <br />C. Clean all exposed concrete surfaces and adjoining work stained by leakage <br />of concrete, to the satisfaction of the Engineer. <br />D. Off -form finish. Fins and other projections shall be removed as approved. <br />Tie cone holes and other minor defects shall be filled as specified in Section <br />03300. <br />3.02 FLOORS AND SLABS <br />A. Floors and slabs shall be screeded to the established grades and shall be <br />level with a tolerance of 1/8 inch when checked with a 12 foot straightedge, <br />except where drains occur, in which case floors shall be pitched to drains as <br />indicated. Failure to meet either of above shall be cause for removal, <br />grinding or other correction. <br />B. After Paragraph 3.02A procedures are accomplished, floors and slabs for <br />particular conditions shall be completed as scheduled in one of the <br />following finishes: <br />1. Wood float finish. Hand wood float with no coarse aggregate <br />visible, maintaining the surface tolerance to provide a grained, <br />non -slip finish as approved. <br />2. Broomed finish. Hand wood float maintaining the surface tolerance <br />and then broom with a stiff bristle broom in the direction of drainage <br />to provide a non -slip finish as approved. <br />3. Steel trowel finish. Steel trowel to a perfectly smooth, hard even <br />finish free from high or low spots or other defects as approved and <br />described in Paragraph 3.02C herein. <br />C. Following screeding as specified above, power steel trowel as follows: <br />07/06 03350 -3 05 -5564 <br />
