CRISTINA M. GONZALEZ, P.E.
Principal
Project Management
Geotechnical Engineering
Waterfront Engineering
EDUCATION
Cornell University, Master of Engineering in Civil Engineering (Geotechnical)
University of Miami, Bachelor of Science in Civil Ergineering,
YEARS OF PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE 25
PROFESSIONAL REGISTRATION AND CERTIFICATION
Registered Professional Engineer: Florida
SUMMARY OF QUALIFICATIONS
Ms. Gonzalez has 25 years of geotechnical engineering experience within the State of Florida. Ms.
Gonzalez has performed numerous geotechnical engineering studies of which most have been high -rise
projects along coastal areas of the State or projects with difficult ground conditions. These projects have
been support on deep high- capacity foundations as well as shallow foundations. The high- capacity piles
have been designed as high as 700 tons for the augercast piles. The coastal projects have also required
design and construction coordination with the State of Florida Department of Environmental Protection.
Ms. Gonzalez has managed numerous large projects from a site improvement, geotechnical, and
foundation construction aspect. Her experience also includes the design and inspections of numerous
high- capacity load tests, and site improvement procedures such as preloading, stone columns, deep
dynamic compaction, and pressure grouting. She has performed underpinning of structures, designed
seawalls, retaining walls, reinforced soil walls, and roadway and utility foundation supports.
RELEVANT EXPERIENCE
The Diplomat Hotel Project, Hollywood, FL- This project includes a 40 -story twin tower hotel, 8 -story
' convention center, 30 -story condominium tower, retail village and garage structure, chiller /mechanical
plant, and a country club complex. Oversaw the complete geotechnical study for the entire project,
working under extreme time constraints and limited design information. Developed a variety of pile
'
foundation capacities up to 400 tons for the various structures, and recommendations for site
stabilization using preloading and light- weight fill. Currently still managing the construction and quality
control of the geotechnical elements of the project.
' Ten Museum Park, Miami, FL - This 50 -story tower is being supported on high capacity piles.
Performed cost comparison to evaluate the economics of supporting the multilevel garage on piles
' versus footings. Interaction with the Structural Engineer and Owner is providing cost efficient
foundations for this high-rise tower.
J.W. Marriott Hotel and Barclays Financial Center, Miami, FL - The two adjoining projects include the
22 -story hotel tower and 32 -story office tower with their respective 7 and 10 -story parking garages. Lead
engineer on the geotechnical studies for both projects and managed the foundation's quality control and
construction aspects of the project. Also provided crucial construction dewatering recommendations for
' the office tower for which the groundwater was lowered 16 ft (e114).
Fontainebleau II and III Towers, Miami Beach, FL - Lead engineer on the 36 and 26-story towers.
Our extensive evaluation and interaction with the Structural Engineer provided the Owner
substantial savings with the use of shallow high - capacity piles for support of both towers.
Infinity on Brickeli, Miami, FL - A 53 -story tower with a garage podium near Brickell Arenue in
' Miami, FL. Lead engineer on the geotechnical study, and interaction with the Client and Structural
Engineer. This project is within very close proximity to an existing 4story building, whereby
... •EERimG d EfNNa L SpNlCES
