GONZALEZ, P.E. <br />settlement of this adjacent building must be minimized. <br />Marina Blue, Miami, FL - Lead engineer on this 57 to 50-story tower with a 12 -story garage podium. <br />Recommendations involve both drilled shafts and 700ton augercast piles to a depth never before <br />done with a 30 -inch- diameter pile. Work has involved extensive interaction with the Structural <br />Engineer, Owner, and Piling contractor. <br />Bella Mare at Williams Island, Aventura, FL- Lead engineer on this 30 -story tower with varying rock <br />conditions. Our extensive evaluation and interaction with the Structural Engineer provided the Owner <br />substantial foundation construction savings by supporting 2/3 of the tower on short, high- capacity piles, <br />and the remaining 1/3 of the tower (where there is no upper rock) is supported on deep piles. Differential <br />settlement between the two foundation support depths s negligible. <br />Fairfield Dadeland, Miami, FL - Ms. Gonzalez value engineered the foundations of this 26 -story <br />condominium tower and garage podium, increasing the pile capacity nearly 400% and reducing the <br />lengths. Savings on the foundations alone were over $750,000. Also provided environmental engineering <br />services and dewatering consultation, assisting with providing dewatering solutions and obtaining the <br />dewatering permit from various governmental agencies. <br />The Parc at Turnberry, Aventura, FL - Ms. Gonzalez value engineered the foundations of this 26 -story <br />twin towers and garage podium, increasing the tower pile capacity by nearly 100 %, and reducing the <br />garage pile lengths by 40 ft. Savings on the foundations alone were over $500,000. Previous geotechnical <br />engineer had also missed the problems associated with raising grades by 6 to 8 ft with the underlying <br />organic stratum. To address this issue, a site stabilization program was recommended and implemented. <br />The Oceania Towers, Sunny Isles, FL - Three 28 -story towers on the beach. The three towers were <br />' preloaded to use 30 -ft long augercast piles instead of 75 -ft piles. Evaluated the settlement under the <br />preload to determine its removal. Prepared the pile load test program and specifications, inspected the <br />installation of the indicator and test piles, the 125 -ton tower piles, and the 70 -ton garage piles. <br />I Supervised and evaluated the tower monitoring, and fill compaction and testing within the slab -on -grade <br />garage and surrounding site. <br />The Landmark, Aventura, FL - A 28 -story luxury residential tower on the Intracoastal. Inspected the <br />installation of indicator and test augercast piles. Test pile program also included dry augered holes to <br />locate in the field the dredge line where the upper limerock stratum had been previously removed. The <br />' test piles were for compression (200 -ton design and 400 tons for test), uplift and lateral tests. Also <br />inspected and supervised the installation of the 200 -ton design production piles. Prepared final report of <br />foundation construction. <br />' Porto Vita Towers, Midrises, Townhouses, and Clubhouse - Aventura, FL - Two 30 -story towers, two <br />7 -story midrises, and 2 -story townhouses and Clubhouse on a previous mangrove swamp. Coordinated <br />and supervised the subsurface investigation and prepared the geotechnical study which included <br />' foundation recommendations, site stabilization methods and utilities support. Prepared plan and <br />technical specifications for site stabilization by preloading, and supervised the preloading for the <br />buildings and site, demucking for the utilities and tower, pile installation, foundation subgrade, <br />dewatering, and placement and testing of compacted fill. <br />Williams Island Towers, North Miami Beach, FL - An island with seven high -rise towers (28 to 33 <br />stories), midrise Villas and several amenity buildings.
