At the commencement an initial field review will be completed to verify the intent and goals of the project, verify the budgeted or estimated construction cost, and determine the need for additional improvements. Once the scope has been finalized with the City, the proposed schedule will be updated and distributed to the team members noting all critical milestones and submittals. A monthly progress meeting will be submitted to the City to detail the status of the project, outstanding issues, resolution of previous issues, and the status of the existing cost estimate. Many City projects usually have short timelines and addressing key issues early on is imperative so that City's schedule and funding dates are not compromised. The following key issues must be addressed immediately: · Proactive permitting to avoid delays later on and obtain approvals as quickly as possible; · Early Utility Coordination, E&R will assign a Utility Manager with experience in Utility Coordination. · Public Involvement, keeping the residents and specially property owners affected aware of the project scope and schedule. QA/QC Procedures will be followed by all team members. Standardized requirements are outlined in E&R's QA/QC Plan (steps on checking, incorporation, and verification) and are distributed early on by E&R's QA Manager at the beginning of the project. The QA/QC program is followed by the Project Team at the management level by tracking the QC schedule to assure the project is being reviewed, at the design and technical level by the way of peer review through senior level engineers, and finally on the production level by having QA manager, Mr. Brett Pielstick, P. E., available at all times to the project team. Providing this extra level of quality has always been a priority and is not taken lightly by the E&R Team. . Constructability reviews will be completed by Mr. Tony Grau, P.E. Mr. Grau has over 30 years of construction experience with Florida Department of Transportation District four and six. PROJECT ORGANIZATION AND STAFFING Shahin Hekmat, P. E. will be the overall project manager and the point of contact with the City of Sunny Isles Beach. Mr. Hekmat has been involved in project with the City for more than three years and recently worked very closely with Mr. John Szerlag, The City Manager and Mr. Rick Conner, P.E., Director of Engineering and Public Works, to prepare the City's Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) and the associated budget. Mr. Hekmat is experienced in the planning, design, permitting, bidding, award and all aspects of construction administration in the South Florida Area. He has also been involved in preparing and presenting project scope, funding and needs in a large public forum as well as one-on-one with public officials and community leaders. Scott Gombar, P.E. will be the Principal-in-Charge. He has been in involved with the City of Sunny Isles Beach for many years, managing the capital projects and coordinating with outside consultants and contractors. Our Team has the expertise and technical education required to address all the conceptual planning, final design, engineering, and permitting issues associated with the completion of the types of project that the City of Sunny Isles Beach would be undertaking, as well as professional services during construction.
