Utilization Of Service Disabled-Veteran, Veteran-Owned And Women-Owned <br />Small Business Concerns <br />It is the policy of Ceres to hire small business concerns and small business concerns owned and <br />controlled by service-disabled veterans, veterans, and women. Service disabled veteran and women <br />owned, as used in this clause, means businesses that are at least 51 percent owned by veterans, service <br />disabled veterans or women who are United States citizens and who also control and operate the <br />business. The contractor agrees to use its best efforts to give veteran, service disabled veteran, and <br />women-owned small businesses the maximum practical opportunity to participate in subcontract awards <br />to the fullest extent consistent with the efficient performance of this contract plan. <br /> <br />E. Verifying the list of subcontract entities, or database, is <br />properly maintained. <br />· Develop outreach programs through advertising; broadcast fax solicitations; networking with local and <br />national organizations such as AGC, applicable trade unions, Chambers of Commerce etc. <br />· Ensuring the inclusion of targeted business concerns in all solicitations for services or products; and <br />ensuring that all solicitations are structured to permit the maximum possible participation by targeted <br />concerns. <br />· Ensuring that certain solicitations our sources sought are restricted to SDB concerns (competitive <br />basis ). <br />· Ensuring the establishment and maintenance of records of all subcontract awards to ensure <br />appropriate documentation of non-selection of bids submitted by targeted enterprises. <br />· Ensuring the preparation and submittal of all compliance reports. <br />· Maintaining records and measuring performance against established goals. <br />· Advise, train, and foster project management personnel on the purposes of the SB Subcontracting <br />Program. <br />· To ensure any provided study or reports are formatted in a manner compliant with the contract or <br />otherwise acceptable to the COR. <br />· Encouraging all employees and subcontractors to attend off-site training courses offered by public and <br />private entities in small business development and small business program goals.
