SAFETY PLAN <br /> <br />PROJECT MANAGEMENT TEAM AND ADMISTRA TIVE RESPONSIBILITIES <br />The DRC Safety Officer for the affected area is the official responsible for health and <br />safety issues. His authority and responsibility include the development, enactment, and <br />enforcement of organization's overall Health and Safety Program. An outline of his <br />responsibilities includes" <br /> <br />Professional Development <br />. Establish and maintain a health and safety library <br />. Keep appraised of changes in health and safety regulations <br />. Participate in professional organizations related <br /> <br />Program Development <br />. Develop and maintain the injury and illness prevention program <br />. Develop and maintain the injury and illness prevention policies and procedures <br />Safety rules <br />Incentive and motivation programs <br />Accident investigations <br />Safety inspections <br />Plan and prepare for natural and manmade disasters <br />Establish a medical program, which includes on-site First Aid capabilities <br />And off-site emergency car <br />Training and Communication <br />. Provide a general safety orientation for employees <br />. Train supervisors and managers in their responsibilities <br />. Inspection of facilities, work sites, material, equipment <br />Enforcement <br />. Assure safe job placement and assignment <br />. Conduct hazard analysis of existing facilities and operations <br />. Study hazards of planned and proposed operations <br />. Accident investigation <br />. Audit safety performance <br />. Conduct research on technical safety problems <br />Accounting <br />. Maintain the accident record keeping system <br />. Maintain documentation on all aspects of the injury and illness prevention program <br /> <br />SAFETY TRAINING AND CONTINUING SAFETY EDUCATION <br />lt is the policy of this organization to provide and maintain work environments and procedures <br />which wille 1) safeguard public and Government personnel, property, materials, supplies, and <br />equipment exposed to contractor operations and activities; (2) avoid interruptions of Government <br />operations and delays in project completion dates; and (3) control costs in the perfonnance of <br />this contract. The key contractor responsibilities concerning safety include (1) providing all <br />personnel a general safety and health indoctrination and a safety and health orientation/screening <br /> <br />46 <br />
