Field quality-control test[ and special inspection] reports. <br /> <br />1.5 QUALITY ASSURANCE <br /> <br />A. Fabricator Qualifications: A fIrm that assumes responsibility for engineering architectural <br />precast concrete units to comply with performance requirements. This responsibility includes <br />preparation of Shop Drawings and comprehensive engineering analysis by a qualified <br />professional engineer. <br /> <br />1. Participates in PCI's plant certification program[ at time of bidding] and is designated a <br />PCI-certified plant for Group A, Category Al - Architectural Cladding and Load Bearing <br />Dnits[ or partici]~ates in APA's "Plant Certification Program for Production of <br />Architectural Precast Concrete Products" and is designated aD APA-certified <br />plant]. <br /> <br />B. Design Standards: Comply with ACI 318 (ACI 318M) and design recommendations of <br />PCI MNL 120, "PCI De:~ign Handbook - Precast and Prestressed Concrete," applicable to types <br />of architectural precast concrete units indicated. <br /> <br />C. Quality-Control Standard: For manufacturing procedures and testing requirements, quality- <br />control recommendations, and dimensional tolerances for types of units required, comply with <br />PCI MNL 117, "Manual for Quality Control for Plants and Production of Architectural Precast <br />Concrete Products." <br /> <br />D. Welding: Qualify pro;;edures and personnel according to AWS D1.1/D.1.1M, "Structural <br />Welding Code - Steel"; and AWS Dl.4, "Structural Welding Code - Reinforcing Stee1." <br /> <br />E. Calculated Fire-Test-Re:;;ponse Characteristics: Where indicated, provide architectural precast <br />concrete units whose fm~ resistance has been calculated according to [ACI 216.1/TMS 0216.1, <br />"Standard Method for Determining Fire Resistance of Concrete and Masonry <br />Construction Assemhlies,"] [pel MNL 124, "Design for Fire Resistance of Precast <br />Prestressed Concrete,"] and is acceptable to authorities having jurisdiction. <br /> <br />F. Sample Panels: After :;;ample approval and before fabricating architectural precast concrete <br />units, produce a minimum of [2] <Insert numher> sample panels approximately [16 sq. ft. (1.5 <br />sq. m)] <Insert size> in area for review by Architect.
