Summary Minutes: Regular City Commission Meeting January 19,2012 City of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida you as early as April, knowing that you probably can't get started in April but certainly that you can get started by Mayor June. Commissioner Scholl said procedurally their site plan runs out, do we need to do anything tonight, and Mr. Schulman said they are scheduled to submit for site plan approval by January 21, and so they need another date or once the Commission has approved the concept plan, a period of time thereafter. Mayor Edelcup suggested we do it in April which will give them 90 days from tonight. City Attorney Ottinot said one important date is in the design review you have to apply for a building permit by June 30, 2012. Commissioner Scholl said tonight let's just make a motion that your site plan presentation is extended until the April 19, 2012 City Commission meeting and then we will deal with the other stuff. Commissioner Scholl moved and Vice Mayor Thaler seconded a motion to extend the site plan presentation until the April 19, 2012 City Commission meeting. The motion was approved by a voice vote of5-0 in favor. [City Clerk's Note: This motion was turned into a Resolution and added as Item 1 OJ} Mayor Edelcup said we will have as many workshops in between as we need, and he asked that Cultural and Human Services Director Susan Simpson attend the workshops because we need her input as well as our own as to what belongs in those parks. [City Clerk's Note: The Commission took a 10-minute break. After which the Commission heard Miami-Dade School Police Chief Charles Hurley. See action under Item 12A.] 6. ZONING None 7. ORDINANCES FOR FIRST READING 7 A. An Ordinance of the City Commission of the City of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida, Amending the Official Zoning Map of the City of Sunny Isles Beach Pursuant to Section 265-4 of the City Code to Make it Consistent with the Land Use Map; Providing for Severability; Providing for Inclusion in the Code; Providing for an Effective Date. Action: City Clerk Hines read the title, and City Manager Cohen reported that in September 2011 the Commission amended the Future Land Use Map of the City and this is amending the official Zoning Map to be consistent with the Land Use Map updating park land. Public Speakers: None Commissioner Scholl moved and Commissioner Aelion seconded a motion to approve the proposed ordinance on first reading. The motion was approved by a roll call vote of 5- o in favor.
