<br />Summary Minutes: Regular City Commission Meeting January 19,2012 <br /> <br />City of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida <br /> <br />10C. A Resolution of the City Commission of the City of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida, Awarding <br />Request for Proposals (RFP) No. 11-11-03 to and Entering into an Agreement with <br />Tenex Enterprises, Inc. for the Collins Avenue (West Side) Sidewalk Pavers Project, in <br />an Amount Not to Exceed $546,161.50, Attached Hereto as Exhibit "A"; Authorizing the <br />Mayor to Execute Said Agreement; Authorizing the City Manager and City Attorney to <br />Negotiate and Execute Agreements for Contingency Services, in an Amount Not to Exceed <br />$750,00.00, and to Do All Things Necessary to Effectuate this Resolution; Providing for an <br />Effective Date. <br /> <br />Action: City Clerk Hines read the title, and Public Works Director Gio Batista reported that <br />this is for the sidewalk pavers on the west side of Collins Avenue excluding the Arlen House. <br />The City went through a procurement process, rejected all bids and negotiated with Tenex. <br />A contingency amount was added for landscaping, irrigation, electrical work, and palm trees <br />as part of this proj ect. <br /> <br />Public Speakers: None <br /> <br />Mayor Edelcup noted that this will complete the west side streetscape. City Manager Cohen <br />clarified that the Arlen House has a separate designated project in our Capital budget, as it is <br />a more complex project which does not fit into the more simple parameters of this project <br />which is why it is not being included at this time. Vice Mayor Thaler asked if the $750,000 <br />was for the foliage and palm trees, and City Manager Cohen said it includes the trees, <br />irrigation, electric and lighting for all of the trees, and we are talking approximately 70+ <br />medjools, and it also includes ground landscaping between the trees. <br /> <br />Commissioner Aelion moved and Commissioner Scholl seconded a motion to approve the <br />resolution. Resolution No. 2012-1834 was adopted by a voice vote of 5-0 in favor. <br /> <br />10D. A Resolution ofthe City Commission ofthe City of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida, Authorizing <br />Payment to Atlantic Broadband for Undergrounding Cable Television Lines at 19201 <br />Collins Avenue, in an Amount Not to Exceed $11,367.00; Authorizing the City Manager to <br />Do All Things Necessary to Effectuate this Resolution; Providing for an Effective Date. <br /> <br />Action: City Clerk Hines read the title, and City Manager Cohen reported that this is a <br />continuation of our efforts to complete the undergrounding of the utilities throughout the <br />City, and once Atlantic Broadband undergrounds lines, FPL will remove the poles. <br /> <br />Public Speakers: None <br /> <br />Vice Mayor Thaler asked ifthere is a time schedule, and City Manager Cohen said from the <br />date that we sign the agreement and give them a check, it will take two (2) months. They <br />have to do some design work and may need to do some rewiring on the Marco Polo property <br />and after that two-month period, we will coordinate with FPL to remove the relevant poles. <br /> <br />Commissioner Scholl moved and Commissioner Aelion seconded a motion to approve the <br />resolution. Resolution No. 2012-1835 was adopted by a voice vote of 5-0 in favor. <br /> <br />14 <br />
