.,'\..

LAURA M. PEREZ & ASSOCIATES, INC.
ARCHITECTS - PLANNERS - INTERIOR DESIGNERS

)

"

" :x.
. "".;("

4. APPROACH AND METHODOLOGY

We are experienced in working simultaneously on multiple projects and multiple locations. We
understand how to complete projects within an occupied facility maintaining existing operations.
The nature of the miscellaneous assignments dictates the management approach necessary to direct
the successful completion of the assignments. The Principal in Charge of the miscellaneous
assignments will, along with the project manager of the assignment, be available to respond to the
individual needs of each project by assigning the appropriate staff and consultants to the project,
which may be a small single discipline one or a large multi-disciplinary one. There will be direct
Principal involvement in this process so that the requirements of the assignment can be readily
assessed and that by working closely with the client the correct scope of work and necessary
coordination with on going operations can be established. We understand that these miscellaneous
assignments can include occupied spaces and we would engage the tenant and client in
participatory meetings to determine scope needs, schedules and phasing requirements. We would
approach our assignments individually without preconceived ideas or solutions, preferring instead
to let the project location, program, existing operations and budget constraints guide us in
) participatory meeting with the client and users to assist them in realizing their vision, appropriate
strategy and agile solution for each individual project and above all we commit to meeting and
exceeding all project schedules.

WORK PLAN AND QUALITY CONTROL

The basis for quality design and construction documents is an established work plan, open
communication, experienced personnel and adequate staffing. There will be direct Principal
involvement throughout the project and we expect to be in close communication with the client,
consultants, governmental agencies, user and contractor. We will establish and/or confirm the
client's needs, project scope, schedule and budget through participatory meetings and will conduct
design review meetings as required. Since miscellaneous projects can vary in size/complexity and
can have expedited deadlines we have developed a Design Philosophy & Process that consists of5
basic goals:

. Design that meets owners requirements
. Project that meets the Budget
. Quality of Project Documentation in order to reduce Change Orders
. Strong Construction Administration
. Timely Project Delivery

LAURA M. PEREZ AND ASSOCIATES, INC

RFQ #12-04-02

PAGE 63
