("Applicant") for the <br /> Property Located at 17749 Collins Avenue, Sign Variance Approval for the Following: <br /> (Hearing#PZ2017-01) <br /> Summary: <br /> The Applicant is seeking a setback variance approval of a monument sign to be two(2)feet <br /> and six (6) inches from the front property line whereas six (6) feet is required. <br /> Requests: <br /> 1. Pursuant to Section 265-63.1 of the City of Sunny Isles Beach Land Development <br /> Regulations,the Applicant is seeking a setback variance approval of a monument sign to be <br /> two (2)feet and six(6) inches from the front property line whereas six(6)feet is required as <br /> per Section 265-56 (A) of the City of Sunny Isles Beach Land Development Regulations. <br /> Protests 0 Waivers 0 Ex Parte 1 <br /> Action: Mayor Scholl gave opening remarks on zoning procedures/decorum. Deputy City <br /> Clerk Betancur read a disclaimer for the Zoning hearing, and administered the oath to <br /> witnesses. City Attorney Ottinot asked if there were any Ex Parte disclosures, and Mayor <br /> Scholl mentioned that he spoke to the applicant and their attorneys about the Application. <br /> Planning and Zoning Technician Sylvia Miller reported mentioning that this application is <br /> for a monument sign at property located at the property known as Mansions at Acqualina. <br /> The applicant is seeking a variance in the setback of the sign. The variance does not interfere <br /> with pedestrians or affect the sight of drivers. The application is consistent with the <br /> Comprehensive Plan and generally consistent with the City's Land Development <br /> Regulations. <br /> Public Speakers: Cliff Schulman; Rick Chitwood. <br /> Cliff Schulman mentioned that these signs allow for proper distinction of the 3 properties, <br /> thereby eliminating confusion of the different driveways. Rick Chitwood gave a brief <br /> overview of the dimension specifications of the monument signs. <br /> Mayor Scholl opened the public hearing. With no public speakers, Mayor then closed the <br /> hearing. <br /> Commissioner Svechin moved and Commissioner Gatto seconded a motion for approval. <br /> Resolution No. 17-Z-162 was adopted by a roll call vote of 4-0-1, in favor. <br /> Vote: Commissioner Aelion absent <br /> Commissioner Gatto yes <br /> Commissioner Svechin yes <br /> Vice Mayor Goldman yes <br /> Mayor Scholl yes <br /> 7 <br />
