conditions, and free from damage or deterioration. <br /> H. Protection After Installation: <br /> 1. Provide substantial coverings as necessary to protect installed products from <br /> damage from traffic and subsequent construction operations. Remove <br /> The Contractor shall be responsible for all materials, equipment, and supplies sold <br /> and delivered to the Owner under this Contract until final inspection of the work and <br /> acceptance thereof by the Owner. In the event any such material, equipment, and <br /> supplies are lost, stolen, damaged, or destroyed prior to final inspection and <br /> acceptance, the Contractor shall replace same without additional cost to the Owner. <br /> J. Should the Contractor fail to take proper action on storage and handling of <br /> equipment supplied under this Contract within seven days after written notice to do <br /> so has been given, the Owner retains the right to correct all deficiencies noted in <br /> previously transmitted written notice and deduct the cost associated with these <br /> corrections from the Contractor's Contract. These costs may be comprised of <br /> expenditures for labor, equipment usage, administrative, clerical, engineering and <br /> any other costs associated with making the necessary corrections. <br /> 1.07 SUBSTITUTIONS AND PRODUCT OPTIONS <br /> A. Products List: <br /> 1. Within 10 days after the effective date of the Agreement, submit to the <br /> Engineer a complete list of major products proposed to be used, with the <br /> name of the manufacturer and the installing subcontractor. <br /> B. Contractor's Options: <br /> 1. For Products specified only by reference standard, select any product <br /> meeting that standard. <br /> 2. For Products specified by naming several products or manufacturers, select <br /> any one of the products or manufacturers named, which complies with the <br /> specifications, subject to the base bid procedures outlined under Document <br /> 00400 -Supplemental Bid Form. <br /> 3. For products specified by naming one or more Products or manufacturers <br /> and "or equal", Contractor must submit a request as for substitutions for <br /> any Product or manufacturer not specifically named. <br /> C. Substitutions: <br /> 1. For a period of 20 days after the effective date of the Agreement, the <br /> Engineer will consider written requests from Contractor for substitution of <br /> Products. <br /> 2. Submit a separate request for each Product, supported with complete data, <br /> with drawings and samples as appropriate, including: <br /> a. Comparison of the qualities of the proposed substitution with that <br /> specified <br /> b. Changes required in other elements of the work because of the <br /> substitution <br /> c.
