<br />CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH |REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL NO. 14-07-01 - REVISED 21 <br /> <br />New 500 1000 KW or equivalent diesel generator to replace existing Emergency /standby Generator currently <br />housed in first floor generator room, NTE existing load. New generator shall be in a sound attenuated, aluminum <br />UL listed marine enclosure capable of withstanding rooftop exposure, with integral radiator and muffler. <br />Generator shall be wired into existing Emergency circuits and must meet the existing electrical loads and <br />characteristics of the system it replaces. <br /> <br /> Perkins or equivalent. <br />The generator shall be fueled from existing site tank by means of a new pump and piping extending the existing <br />point of connection in or near the generator room. Wiring switch gear and conduit, labor, piping required to <br />install and connect new generator to the first floor equipment locations shall be included. <br /> <br />It is expected that no new conduit or wiring is required from the existing generator in the old generator room to <br />the loads. <br /> <br />Exterior Switch gear, junction boxes and devices, conduit, piping required for proper connection must meet roof <br />top exposure requirements, including NEMA III as may be necessary. System must be added to lightning protect <br />loop. <br /> <br />Generator shall be equipped with a double walled steel base tank capable of 8 hours minimum continuous <br />operation on diesel fuel. Entire system must be connected to existing main storage tank through existing <br />plumbing in the current emergency generator room. All controls, switches, valves, pumps must be installed to <br />provide the same operation and intent of the existing day tank and system configuration as shown in attached <br />diagram. <br /> <br />Work will include tie downs, and generator and associated equipment and shall be installed on a level Aluminum <br />frame or suitable slab capable of distributing the weight across the foot print of the generator and adjacent area <br />required for weight distribution, meeting all wind load and building code requir ements. The generator will be <br />protected on driving side of the parking garage by a 4 inch schedule 40 steel bollard painted yellow - minimum 2 <br />locations <br /> <br />City may elect to exercise a direct purchase option to save on sales tax expenses. <br /> <br />3.2.13 New 500 1000 KW diesel stand-by generator <br /> <br />In an aluminum or marine enclosure capable of withstanding rooftop exposure, with integral radiator and muffler. <br />Generator must have the capacity to power parts of the Administrative building 4th floor and miscellaneous loads. <br />The included loads are TBD during shop drawing development process but shall include air conditioning of fourth <br />floor, lights and facilities NTE 450 1000 KW. Generator system is to be equipped with ATS installed in or near <br />the old generator room, and accessory controls and distribution sub panels and wiring to provide standby capacity <br />for the fourth floor of the Government Center including providing air conditioning and task lighting. Generator <br />shall be compatible with existing voltage, and wiring in the building.
