<br /> As a member of the USGBC,Song+Associates strongly supports the City of Sunny Isles Beach's goal for green building design.Song+
<br /> Associates previously designed West Palm Beach's City Center comprising the City Hall, Public Library and Palm Beach Photographic
<br /> I Centre and Museum. City Center is an excellent example of sustainable design and the City's contribution to fundamental
<br /> improvements in environmental management and use of resources. Using recycled and reused materials,redeveloping an urban site
<br /> with existing infrastructure,and promoting community connectivity,we would apply many of the same philosophies to elevate your
<br /> ICity Hall and Community Center as a leader in sustainability practices.
<br /> All of Song + Associates' projects are designed to create a balance of environmental responsibility, resource efficiency, occupant
<br /> comfort/well-being, and community sensitivity. There are many clients who choose not to pursue LEED®certification however,we
<br /> I maintain our goal to be responsive to the environment and implement the LEED®criteria in our design whenever practical even when
<br /> not seeking certification or seeking certification from another organization. These include USGBC LEED®, Florida Green Building
<br /> Coalition,Green Globes,and Energy Star.
<br /> I As an early step in the project process,our team will provide a comparison of the pros and cons of the various methods of construction,
<br /> material selections,HVAC systems and site elements so that informed decisions can be made. We will examine the construction cost
<br /> premium of each element as well as the expected maintenance and operational cost impacts and the projected energy cost savings
<br /> I over the building's life cycle. Together with our consulting engineers,our team has completed numerous significant public projects
<br /> that have achieved leading edge performance in sustainable design.
