Summary.Minutes:Regular City Commission Meeting April 13,2000 City of Sunny Isles Beach,Florida <br /> P-1 and dated 6/22/98 on sheet P-2 & P-3. <br /> To: Plans are on file and may be examined in the Building, <br /> Planning and Zoning Department entitled "Williams Island <br /> Sunny Isle Condominium Two Story Parking Structure", <br /> prepared by Robert M. Swedroe Architects - Planners dated <br /> stamped received 3/20/2000 consisting of 3 sheets. <br /> The purpose of this request is to allow the applicant to submit plans showing a parking <br /> garage for the proposed hotel condominium development along Collins Avenue. <br /> 2. Non Use Variance of Lot Coverage requirements to permit the proposed parking <br /> garage with a lot coverage of 60% (40% permitted). <br /> 3. Non Use Variance of Setback requirements to permit the proposed parking garage <br /> varying in setback from 10 to 15 feet from the rear (east) property line (25 feet <br /> required). <br /> Protests 1 Waivers 0 Ex-Parte 1 (Turetskv) <br /> ACTION: City Clerk Brown-Morilla read the title and asked if there had been any ex-parte <br /> communications. Commissioner Turetsky disclosed that he was the President of his Temple <br /> that owned neighboring property,and that he had discussions. Zoning&Code Administrator <br /> Jorge Vera read his report. <br /> Public Speakers: Cliff Schulman Esq.; Zoning & Code Administrator Jorge Vera; <br /> Community Planning & Development Director Marla Dumas; Gerry Goodman. <br /> Marla Dumas noting the shared parking between the neighboring temple and the proposed <br /> development. She stated the need for unity of title between the two, however the land is <br /> going to be leased from the synagogue. Subject to an architectural facade approved by staff. <br /> Jorge Vera said that within 90 days of approval, the applicant must submit a copy of the <br /> signed lease to the City. Cliff Schulman promised the applicant would not pull a building <br /> permit until a lease has been submitted. <br /> Gerry Goodman questioned the access to the parking garage since the street did not line up <br /> directly from the east side to the west side. <br /> Commissioner Turetsky moved and Commissioner Kauffman seconded a motion to <br /> approve the application with all the City staff conditions. The motion to approve was <br /> approved as Resolution No. 00-Z-47, by a voice vote of 5-0 in favor. <br /> 6 <br />
