Below are additional on-going or recently successfully completed stormwater/drainage <br />system improvement projects and associated roadway improvements. <br />• City of Sunny Isles -174th Street Stormwater & Pavement Improvements, Sunny Isles Beach, <br />Florida <br />Status: Completed 2017 <br />Prime Consultant: CAS <br />Key CAS Staff: Stephen C. Smith, Orlando A. Rubio, Robert D. Keener, Tony Gomes <br />Scope of Work: Survey, utility locates, design, stormwater modeling, cost estimating, contract <br />document development and permitting for road and drainage improvements along 174th <br />Street which included reconstruction of existing roadway and drainage with a Hydrodynamic <br />Separator (Downstream Defender) for water quality treatment and a Tideflex Checkmate <br />Valve for tidal backflow prevention purposes, bike lanes, curbing, landscaping, parallel parking <br />and traffic calming. The project achieved improved drainage and road pavement, reduction in <br />traffic speed, enhanced pedestrian safety and street aesthetics. This project was completed <br />on time and within budget. <br />Design Cost: $212,180 <br />Construction Cost Estimate: $3,425,000 <br />Actual Construction Cost: $3,682,392 <br />City of Pompano Beach - SW 2nd Street Drainage Improvements, City of Pompano Beach, <br />Florida <br />Status: On-going (Design Phase) <br />Prime Consultant: CAS <br />Key CAS Staff: Gene R. Schriner, Stephen C. Smith, James R. Orth, Frank Vilar, Robert D. <br />Keener, Tony Gomes <br />Scope of Work: Engineering services for proposed drainage along SW 2nd Street between Dixie <br />Highway and Cypress Road, SW 1st Avenue between SW 2nd Street and Atlantic Blvd, SW 1st <br />Terrace and SW 1st Court between SW 2nd Street and S. Cypress Road. CAS met with City of <br />Pompano Beach to discuss City concerns with flooding at the described project limits and also <br />potential solutions CAS will provide recommendations to alleviate flooding concerns. It is <br />anticipated the proposed drainage improvements could include a combination of new Swale <br />systems and new exfiltration trenches where feasible.
