RESOLUTION NO. 2026- 2 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, <br />FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE EXPENDITURE OF BUDGETED FUNDS WITH <br />FEDERAL EASTERN INTERNATIONAL, LLC FOR THE PURCHASE OF POLICE <br />EQUIPMENT; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO DO ALLTHINGS NECESSARY <br />TO EFFECTUATE THE TERMS OF THIS RESOLUTION; AND PROVIDING FOR AN <br />EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />WHEREAS, on September 11, 2025, via Resolution No. 2025-635, the City Commission of <br />the City of Sunny Isles Beach (the "City") adopted the Operating and Capital Improvement Budget <br />for the Fiscal Year Commencing October 1, 2025, through September 30, 2026 ("Adopted <br />Budget"); and <br />WHEREAS, the City's Police Department ("SIBPD") requires ongoing access to safety <br />equipment, supplies, and related services in order to maintain officer safety, operational <br />readiness, and effective delivery of law enforcement services to the community (the "Goods"); <br />and <br />WHEREAS, due to ongoing operational demands, equipment replacement needs, and <br />continued support of departmental operations, SIBPD is seeking approval to purchase the Goods <br />from Federal Eastern International, LLC (the "Vendor"); and <br />WHEREAS, funds for the purchase of the Goods has been allocated in the Adopted <br />Budget; and <br />WHEREAS, the Vendor has been awarded Contract No. 250101 by The Interlocal <br />Purchasing System ("TIPS") for Safety Equipment, Supplies and Services; and <br />WHEREAS, the contract available through TIPS was awarded pursuant to a publicly <br />advertised and competitively solicited Request for Proposals ("RFP") process; and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 62-13(I) of the City's Code of Ordinance, "Purchases made <br />through intergovernmental cooperative purchasing arrangements or purchasing consortiums <br />organized as a corporation not for profit whose members are governmental entities, provided <br />that such cooperative purchasing arrangements or consortiums provide for a competitive <br />process to select a vendor," are exempt from the competitive bidding requirements of Chapter <br />62 of the City's Code of Ordinances; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Commission wishes to authorize the expenditure of budgeted funds <br />with the Vendor for the purchase of the desired Goods, in an amount not to exceed One Hundred <br />Ten Thousand Dollars and No Cents ($110,000.00). <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY <br />ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br />Page 1 of 2 666 <br />
