An Ordinance of the City Commission of the City of Sunny Isles Beach,Florida,Amending the City Charter to Accept those Charter Amendments Approved by a Majority of the Voters on Tuesday, June 4, 2013 According to Official Results; Amending Section 2.4 "Qualifications"; Amending Section 3.2 "Powers and Duties of the City Manager"; Amending Section 7.4 "Charter Revision"; Amending Certain Sections for Clarification Purposes and to Correct Grammatical Errors; Providing for Repealer; Providing for Severability; Directing the City Clerk to Amend the City Charter in Accordance with the Election Results and this Ordinance;Providing for Inclusion into the City Charter and Code; Providing for an Effective Date. (First Reading 06/20/13) Action: City Clerk Hines read the title. Public Speakers: None Commissioner Gatto moved and Commissioner Levin seconded a motion to adopt the Ordinance on second reading. RESOLUTIONS 10A. A Resolution of the City Commission of the City of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida, Establishing the City of Sunny Isles Beach Proposed Ad Valorem Tax Millage Levy Rate at 2.7000 2.8000 Mills per $1,000.00 of Taxable Assessed Value Which is 8.9281% 12.9621% More than the "Rolled Back" Rate of 2.4787 Mills, for Fiscal Year 2013/2014; Setting the Date, Time and Place for the First and Second Public Budget Hearings as Required by Law; Directing the City Clerk and City Manager to File this Resolution with the Property Appraiser of Miami-Dade County Pursuant to the Requirements of Florida Statutes and the Rules and Regulations of the Department of Revenue of the State of Florida; Providing for an Effective Date. Action: [City Clerk's Note: A revised Memo and Resolution were distributed prior to the meeting.] City Clerk Hines read the title, and City Manager Russo reported that this is a revised Resolution as a result of our Budget Workshops on Monday and Tuesday, July 15 and,16,2013,and as we had discussed we went back and revised the millage rate down. This reduction is 31%of the anticipated increase in the levy based on the 2.8 existing millage rate and which is within the range as directed by the City Commission. Public Speakers: None Commissioner Scholl moved and Commissioner Gatto seconded a motion to approve the Resolution, as amended at 2.7000 mills.
