Summary Minutes:Regular City Commission Meeting July 18,2013 City of Sunny Isles Beach,Florida <br /> 10E. A Resolution of the City Commission of the City of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida, Approving <br /> the First Amendment to Agreement with DBP Robotics for Program Instruction Services <br /> for Summer Camp and the After School Program, in an Amount Not to Exceed <br /> $30,000.00, Attached Hereto as Exhibit "A"; Authorizing the Mayor to Execute Said <br /> Agreement; Authorizing the City Manager to Do All Things Necessary to Effectuate this <br /> Resolution; Providing for an Effective Date. <br /> Action: City Clerk Hines read the title, and Cultural and Community Services Director <br /> Susan Simpson reported this is a wonderful group that does after school programs and <br /> summer camp programs that are all computer science based and enrollment has skyrocketed <br /> this year. It is a split of revenues 30/70 and they get 70% and we get 30%. The $30,000 is <br /> up to and would only be their 70%. <br /> Public Speakers: None <br /> Vice Mayor Aelion asked if the children get any credit for participating in this class,and Ms. <br /> Simpson said no they do not at this time but that is a great idea and they will look into it. <br /> Vice Mayor Aelion moved and Commissioner Levin seconded a motion to approve the <br /> Resolution. Resolution No. 2013-2083 was adopted by a voice vote of 5-0 in favor. <br /> 10F. A Resolution of the City Commission of the City of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida, Approving <br /> the Second Amendment to the Agreement with Lukes-Sawgrass Landscaping, Inc. for <br /> Citywide Landscaping Services, in an Amount Not to Exceed $682,009.00 for a One-Year <br /> Period, Attached Hereto as Exhibit "A"; Authorizing the Mayor to Execute Said <br /> Amendment; Authorizing the City Manager to Do All Things Necessary to Effectuate this <br /> Resolution; Providing for an Effective Date. <br /> Action: City Clerk Hines read the title,and Assistant City Manager Bill Evans reported that <br /> the Agreement has gone up $32,009.00 due to the fact that we have 116 new Date Palms at <br /> the southern end of the City. There are also some reductions based on the installation of the <br /> artificial turf at Pelican Community Park and Senator Gwen Margolis Park. <br /> Public Speakers: None <br /> Mayor Edelcup commented on how the landscaping in the City is looking so much better <br /> than it did 12 months ago, and he thanked Assistant City Manager Evans and Lukes' for <br /> bringing it back to the standards that we would like to see in this City. <br /> Commissioner Scholl moved and Commissioner Gatto seconded a motion to approve the <br /> Resolution. Resolution No. 2013-2084 was adopted by a voice vote of 5-0 in favor. <br /> 6 <br />
