© Copyright – Safety Point, Corp. – Materials developed for TGSV Enterprises, Inc.
General Safety Guidelines

An accident is defined as an event that you did not plan. More than half of these accidental events can be attributed to
one cause, carelessness. The majority of the rest are caused by failure to know and follow a safety or operational
procedure. This can make a very dangerous combination that can cost you more than a bad day. It could be a finger,
an eye, a leg, your back, or your life.

One thing that a safety violation can cost you; is your job! This company may receive serious penalties and fines due
to accidents cause by your failure to follow safety policies. Your supervisor and management have the authority to
warn and reprimand you for any unsafe act or policy violation that you may perform. These warnings may be verbal or
written and will become part of your personnel record. Depending on the severity of the violation, discipline, including
immediate termination, is possible. Repeat violations will always resul t in termination. Keep this in mind.

Reporting Unsafe Conditions or Acts: Most of “on the-job accidents” are avoidable and preventable. If you see or
suspect an unsafe act or condition, repot it to your supervisor or management immediately. A good rule to follow is: If
it is spilled, injured, damaged, broken, or nearly did any of these things, report it! You will not be disciplined for
reporting an unsafe condition. However, action may be taken if you do not report an unsafe condition. Be smart; let
someone know.

Accidents: Driver that has an at fault auto accident during the probation period (90 Days) will be terminated
immediately. After the 90 days probation period a driver that has an at fault auto accident will be suspended for three
days. The second at fault accident for the driver during the year after the first accident, this means a year from the date
of the previous at fault accident, will be terminated. Depending on the magnitude of the incident and the severity of the
consequences we can recommend or decide to terminate any employee at any given time.

Cellular Phones: Cellular phones are not permitted to be used during normal business hours, unless the phone is a
company phone and is being used for company purposes. People that have a com pany phone must not use the phone
while driving. Disciplinary Actions will be taken against drivers that use their personal cellular phone while driving.

The following are safe driving rules, which should be reminded to employees:

A. Do not take chances. To arrive safely is more important than to arrive on time.

B. Drivers' physical condition must be such as to enable them to efficiently perform their duties.

C. Drinking of alcoholic beverages while driving, or driving while under the influence of alc ohol or drugs is
prohibited.

D. Drivers must have a valid driver's license for the type of vehicle to be operated and keep the license(s) with
them at all times while driving.

E. Traffic laws must be obeyed:

1. Speed shall never be faster than a rate consistent with existing speed laws and road, traffic, and weather
conditions. Posted speed limits must be obeyed.

2. Never attempt to exercise the right-of-way; always let the other driver go first.

3. Keep to the right except when overtaking slow moving vehicles, or when getting into a position to make a
left turn.

4. Never follow another vehicle so closely that you will not be able to make a safe stop under any condition.
Observe Timed Interval and Following Distance guidelines.

5. Turn signals must be used to show where you are heading; while going into traffic and before every turn or
lane change. Remember, signaling intentions neither gives the driver the right -of-way, nor guarantees a
safe lane change.

6. Slow down and watch for children in school zones.
