BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT AND RELEVANCE TO THIS CONTRACT (Include scope, size, and cost) <br />Craven Thompson & Associates provided professional surveying, engineering, geotechnical engineering, and <br />subsurface utility engineering services specific to the preparation of roadway and drainage improvements to <br />NE 191st Street. This project included stormwater improvements for NE 191st Street from Biscayne Boulevard <br />to NE 29th Avenue. The roadway currently suffers from localized flooding due to the relatively low elevations <br />and because of the decreasing capacity of the aging stormwater system. <br />The stormwater improvements included the removal of <br />425 linear feet of C.M.P. replaced with 24” R.C.P. and <br />exfiltration trench, along with 140 linear feet of new <br />trench. The local site constraints and soil conditions did <br />not allow for the construction of the standard Miami <br />Dade County exfiltration trench section so the typical <br />trench section proposed is 5’ wide x 4.5’ tall, with the <br />bottom of the trench depth varying from 6.5’ to 8.5’ <br />below grade. This section allowed the contractor to <br />utilize a standard trench box as opposed to sheet piles <br />which would be required for deeper installations. The <br />improvements also included the installation of four (4) <br />gravity drainage wells with baffle structures, and the <br />cleaning of all pipes and drainage structures within the <br />right-of-way to restore the capacity of the collection <br />system and the effectiveness of the existing exfiltration trenches. <br /> <br />Construction Cost: $706,738.00 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />25.
