<br />This $26.4 million project included the reconstruction 5 miles of a new 4-lane divided section with a 40-foot median and guardrail in select locations. Environmental awareness is
<br />addressed with the installations of 6’ x 22” wildlife crossings and a water-quality sensitive drainage system with more than 8,400 LF of French drain, almost 9,400 LF of solid pipe,
<br />and 190 drainage structures. The Project also addressed multi-modal and safety purposes by providing 5-foot paved shoulders for the north- and southbound roadways that will
<br />be marked for bicycle use. The Project is adjacent to the Florida Everglades and required significant de-mucking for the construction of the widened section. Duties included
<br />preparation of daily reports and final estimates documents, material verification, sampling and testing, verification of quantities and document control.
