D-12
RFQ 20-10-01 Professional Engineering and Architectural Services for Pedestrian Bridge with Park Elements Across A1A at 174th St. CCNA D
MIAMI STATION RAIL INFRASTRUCTURE AND RAIL VIADUCT, BRIGHTLINE TRAINS - FLORIDA
As the Structural EOR for this signature project, EAC provided the structural design and post-design of the rail bridge structures
at the Miami Station. The elevated guideway structures were designed to support Brightline trains and Tri-Rail passenger trains
approximately 50-ft. above grade. The rail structures were structurally integrated within the new MiamiCentral Station facility. Florida
U-beams and FIB were considered for the superstructure; FIB was selected in the final design for its economic advantages. The
foundation system was based on 24-in. auger cast piles. One highlighted architectural feature of the pier consists of six inclined
columns framed both transversely and longitudinally - that provides both aesthetics and open space for the station entrance. The
inclined piers were post-tensioned to offset the effect of column inclination. Key design forces for the piers include gravity loads, train
tracking and braking forces, as well as rail-structure interaction.
GOLDEN GLADES PEDESTRIAN BRIDGE
The Golden Glades Multimodal Transportation Facility (GGMTF), a design-build project for FDOT District-6, is currently under design
and construction. This project is located in the southwest quadrant of the Golden Glades Interchange in northern Miami-Dade County.
As the Structural EOR for this signature project, EAC provided the structural design of the pedestrian bridge that connects the proposed
parking garage structure to the existing Tri-Rail Bridge.
PORT OF MIAMI DODGE ISLAND SEGMENTAL BRIDGES, MIAMI-DADE COUNTY
