D-14 <br />RFQ 20-10-01 Professional Engineering and Architectural Services for Pedestrian Bridge with Park Elements Across A1A at 174th St. CCNA D <br />EB AND WB BRIDGES OVER 67TH AVE., FDOT-6 <br />EAC designed the bridges using FIB for the superstructure and post-tensioned straddled pier for the substructure. Structures will be <br />constructed in phases for MOT. We utilized refined structural analysis to model the entire structure to evaluate the effect of phased <br />construction on the straddled pier. <br />WEST 8 is an award-winning Florida licensed firm, with expertise in urban design and landscape <br />architecture. The firm was founded in 1987, and has offices in Rotterdam, New York, and Brussels. Over <br />the last three decades, West 8 has established itself as a leading practice with an international team of 70 <br />architects, urban designers, landscape architects, and industrial engineers. West 8’s New York office was <br />established after winning an international design competition in 2006 for the design of Governors Island <br />Park - a 172-acre island in the New York Harbor. <br />With a multi-disciplinary approach to complex design issues, West 8 has extensive experience in <br />large-scale urban master planning and design, including pedestrian bridges, landscape interventions, <br />waterfront projects, parks, squares and gardens. Working on an international level from its start, West 8 <br />developed projects all over the world - in places such as Copenhagen, London, Moscow, New York, Madrid, <br />Hamburg, Toronto, Amsterdam, Shanghai, and Seoul. Recently won competitions include West Kowloon <br />Cultural District Park (HK), Governors Island in New York (USA), Madrid Rio (ES), Sagrera Linea Park <br />(ES), and Yongsan Park in Seoul (KR). Amongst the numerous awards received by West 8 are the Global <br />Award for Sustainable Architecture™, the Honor Award of the American Society of Landscape Architects <br />(ASLA), the International Urban Landscape Gold Award (IULA), the Prix de Rome, the Dutch Maaskant <br />Award, the Bijhouwer Award, the Green Pin, the Veronica Rudge Green Prize for Urban Design, and the <br />Lifetime Achievement Award for Architecture of The Mondriaan Fund (previously BKVB, the Netherlands <br />Foundation for Visual Arts, Design, and Architecture). West 8 was also a finalist for the Rosa Barba First <br />European Landscape Prize.
