<br />Project manager. Kimley-Horn was retained by City of Delray Beach to complete a set of construction plans for two pedestrian bridges for the
<br />proposed pedestrian improvements along Lowson Blvd. The bridges will be on either side of Lowson Blvd and provide pedestrian connectivity
<br />over Lake Worth Drainage District's (LWDD) E-4 Canal . These bridges are part of the bicycle lane addition for Lowson Blvd. The project also
<br />includes permitting and coordination with LWDD and the US. Army Corps of Engineers.

<br />Structural engineer. Kimley-Hom designed safety and aesthetic improvements to this 400 -foot bascule bridge over the Intracoastal Waterway.
<br />Kimley-Horn designed a replacement traffic railing and an under -bridge walkway to improve pedestrian access to the water. The project
<br />involved the design and construction of enhancements to the bridge facade, tender house, traffic railings, lighting, large tensioned sails at each
<br />end of the bridge (four total) and computerized uplighting, artwork on bridge facades, land-based lighting, and a pedestrian esplanade under the
<br />bridge connecting restaurants and buildings from the south to the north. The design -build team was responsible for complete design, permitting,
<br />and coordination with FDOT. Kimley-Horn obtained all permits for the project through coordination with FDOT, USACE, USCG, FDEP, the City,
<br />and SFWMD. The project created a signature gateway within the City's Beach district.

<br />Careful attention needs to be maintained when working adjacent to existing large underground utilities and overhead electric lines that may
<br />interfere with bridge pile driving. Coordinated closely with LWDD for the design of the new bridge and consideration of canal access.

<br />Structural engineer for the rehabilitation and retrofit of an existing 3 -span, PC/PS concrete slab unit bridge crossing the C-100 Canal. The
<br />existing bridge utilized non -composite slab units placed side-by-side with an asphalt topping. Over the years, through milling and resurfacing
<br />operations, the asphalt thickness had increased 2-3 times the original maximum design thickness in several locations. Expansion joints were
<br />replaced at all supports, concrete traffic railings were reconstructed to the latest FDOT Standards, and new ADA compliant sidewalks with
<br />aluminum pedestrian railings were reconstructed along each side of the bridge.
