The review includes foundations, piers and 90 ft wide post -tensioned <br />pier caps. The technical review includes independent structural checks with sophisticated structural modelling. It is 2,155' long and has 34 prestressed concrete girder approach spans, 15 of them being 45' long and the <br />remaining 19 being 65' long as well as 3 continuous steel girder main spans (70', 105', 70'). They all are three -span extradosed concrete structures, with maximum span of 344 ft. They <br />are built segmentally using a balanced cantilever method. The aesthetic, functional, environmental and construction aspects <br />condition and define them. This project has been awarded with the 2012 Eugene C. Figg Medal for an outstanding achievement in <br />bridge engineering that provides an icon to the community for which it was designed. The 116 -ft wide superstructure uses Standard Pretensioned Concrete I -Girder <br />superstructure. The bridge has 15 spans. The maximum span length is 125ft. The nine -span bridge consists of a continuous deck with an <br />overall length of 485m. The main span length is 393ft and its deck is supported by a curved tied steel member between two pylons. <br />This central curved tied member above the deck level splits into two branches over the side spans and creates two doorways. <br />(1) TITLE AND LOCATION (City and State) <br />(2) YEAR COMPLETED <br />Cable -stayed bridge over the Magdalena River in Honda, Colombia <br />PROFESSIONAL SERVICES <br />CONSTRUCTION (ifappl.) <br />2017 <br />I <br />2019 <br />(3) BRIEF DESCRIPTION (Brief scope, size, cost, etc.) AND SPECIFIC ROLE 0 Check if project performed with current firm <br />h. <br />Pedelta has been responsible for the feasibility study, conceptual and detailed design of a 1280 -ft long cable -stayed <br />bridge over the Magdalena River in the city of Honda. The bridge has a main span of 787 -ft and two back spans of <br />246 -ft each. The deck is 16.3m wide, accommodates two traffic lanes and is suspended on two lateral cable planes. <br />Juan participated in the feasibility study and concept design. Pedelta has also provided construction engineering <br />services and technical support to the contractor.
