LMS 2025-2030 <br />Objectives: <br />PART 1: THE STRATEGY <br />5.1. Incorporate measures into the LMS to help obtain uniform credit for all CRS <br />communities <br />5.2. Identify and track projects in the LMS to demonstrate the role of mitigation <br />measures in reducing flood risk <br />5.3. Provide outreach and educational opportunities that are innovative and coordi- <br />nated through all levels of government <br />5.4. Develop and implement a Program for Public Information (PPI) that includes <br />vulnerable populations <br />6. Promote mitigation measures for critical facilities <br />Objectives: <br />6.1. Continue to invite and work with critical facility stakeholders <br />6.2. Identify and track mitigation measures for existing critical facilities <br />6.3. Assess alternate facilities as identified in continuity of operations plans to deter- <br />mine if the sites are appropriately mitigated <br />6.4. Identify additional sites for emergency sheltering <br />6.5. Integrate sea level rise modeling to project and characterize expected impacts <br />during the expected service -life of critical facilities. Protect expressways, major <br />highways and other thoroughfares and, bridges and causeways to provide for <br />continuous, free flowing traffic and circulation as needed for the effective and <br />unencumbered provision of emergency services and evacuation operations <br />7. Provide whole community planning <br />Objectives: <br />7.1. Engage the whole community in mitigation efforts to maximize coordination and <br />collaboration <br />7.2. Host mitigation workshops to educate stakeholders and community members <br />7.3. Initiate organizational, managerial and administrative goals to make mitigation <br />a mainstream function of government affairs; spread the responsibilities <br />throughout many departments and agencies to ensure continuity and a full in- <br />tegration of mitigation management functions in the operations of government <br />7.4. Enhance public information and engagement to increase awareness of hazards <br />and problems and to educate through a widespread program of general infor- <br />mation, media coverage and participatory involvement <br />7.5. Identify mitigation projects that address gaps in planning, such as technical de- <br />sign, engineering and long-term planning <br />7.6. Provide support to mitigation partners in pursuing mitigation grant funding by <br />keeping them informed about funding opportunities, connecting them to re- <br />sources and providing guidance <br />P 1-26 <br />
