Do not begin planting of trees until deficiencies are corrected, or plants replaced. <br /> <br />3 .02 LOCATION/STAKING <br /> <br />A. <br /> <br />Stake out locations for plants and outline of planting beds on ground. <br /> <br />B. <br /> <br />Do not begin excavation until stake out of plant locations and plant beds are acceptable <br />to the Landscape Architect. <br /> <br />c. <br /> <br />All trees are to be located and staked for inspection by the Landscape Architect. <br /> <br />3.03 PREPARATION <br /> <br />06/05 <br /> <br />A. Pits and Trenches: <br /> <br />1. <br /> <br />Shape: <br />a. <br />b. <br /> <br />Vertical sides and flat bottom. <br />Plant pits to be square or circular. <br /> <br />2. Size: <br />a. <br /> <br />For Trees: <br />(1) Depth: Minimum 2 ft. from finish grade and increased as <br />necessary to accommodate planting ball and at least 6 inch <br />planting soil backfill below ball or roots. <br />(2) Width or Diameter: 2 ft. greater than diameter of plating ball <br />(unless otherwise approved by Landscape Architect for special <br />planting areas. <br /> <br />02490-7 <br /> <br />03-4138.8 <br />
