0 <br />0 <br />I <br />4P, <br />r. <br />H""I, <br />[l <br />548 -10 Basis of Payment. <br />Price and payment will be full compensation for all work specified in this Section, <br />including the design of the wall system, excavation required specifically for wall <br />construction below the normal roadway template, soil reinforcement, leveling pad, <br />footings, copings, fabric material, horizontal joint materials, alignment pins, repairs, labor, <br />equipment, and other materials necessary to complete the wall in an acceptable manner as <br />shown on the Contract drawings. The cost of granular fill for the normal roadway template <br />will be included in the cost of embankment or borrow excavation, as applicable. <br />Payment will be made under: <br />Item No. 548 -12- Retaining Wall System (Permanent) -per square foot. <br />Item No. 2548-12- Retaining Wall System (Permanent) -per square meter. <br />Item No. 548 -13- Retaining Wall System (Temporary) -per square foot. <br />Item No. 2548-13- Retaining Wall System (Temporary) -per square meter. <br />560 SHOP, FIELD AND MAINTENANCE COATING OF STRUCTURAL STEEL. <br />(REV 8- 22 -05) (FA 8- 22 -05) (1 -06) <br />SECTION 560 (Pages 650 -657) is deleted and the following substituted: <br />SECTION <br />SHOP, FIELD <br />OF STRUCTURAL STEEL <br />560 <br />AND MAINTENANCE COATING <br />560 -1 Description <br />Perform the shop, field and maintenance coating of structural steel surfaces in <br />accordance with the Society for Protective Coatings (formerly Steel Structures Painting <br />Council) (SSPC) PA 1, AASHTO /NSBA Steel Bridge Collaboration S 8.1 and this <br />Specification. This Specification includes the preparation of the steel surfaces and the <br />application, drying, and cure of coatings. <br />560 -2 Materials. <br />560 -2.1 Coating System: Use only coating products and systems meeting the <br />requirements of Section 975 and listed on the Departments Qualified Products List (QPL). <br />560 -2.2 Thinners and Cleaners: Use only thinners and cleaners meeting the coating <br />manufacturers' recommendations. <br />560 -2.3 Sealants /caulking: Use only sealants and caulk listed as part of the coating <br />system on the QPL and recommended by the coatings manufacturer. <br />560 -2.4 Soluble Salts Test Kit: Ensure the surface treatment materials are approved <br />by the coating manufacturer. Use soluble Salt Test kits that meet the following <br />requirements: contains all materials, supplies, tools and instructions for field testing and <br />on -site quantitative evaluation; the extract solution is factory pre- measured, pre - packaged, <br />and of uniform concentration; all components and solutions are mercury free and <br />environmentally friendly; contains a factory sealed titration device and contains new <br />materials and solutions for each test. <br />Ensure the test container (vessel, sleeve, cell, etc.) creates a sealed, <br />encapsulated environment during ion extraction. <br />March 2007 01000 -128 03- 4122.D <br />1 1.1 <br />
