The student stations were added with the construction of a Prototypical Modular Classroom
Building developed by Miami Dade County Public Schools (M-DCPS) to alleviate overcrowding. Due to the
limited site conditions on several of the project sites, the program required the removal and replacement of
existing buildings, shelters, playground equipment and playfields. In conjunction with the additions and
renovations, access and verification of utility services, including electrical, sanitary and fire sprinkler services,
were carefully considered with upgrades to Fire Alarm and Public Address Systems.
