Investigation included backwater prediction
for Bea\'cr Creek, culvert sizing for road crossing, and
sediment-monitoring program during construction.

Directed the drainage calculation for railroad
coordination of project FLF-S..J.O (8) Taylor County,
Georgia to demonstrate no backwater impact from
railroad culverts as a result of discharges drained through
SR 96 drainage pipes.

Principal Geotechnical Engineer, Transit way
Maintenance Facility, Massachusetts Bay
Transportation Authority, Boston, MA, 07/2001-
09/2001. The project planned and designed Transit
\,\'ay J\Iaintenance facility at south Boston, J\L\.

Provided storm runoff analyses and designed a
subdrainage piping system and a lift pumping system of
sitc drainage for Boston \'\'ater and Se\ver Commission
permit application. i\n off-line oil! water separator \vas
designed to detain and treat the storm first flush.

Principal Geotechnical Engineer, Londonderry
Cogeneration Facility, AES Londonderry, LLC,
Londonderry, NH, 08/2000 - OS/2001. The project
designed and planned the construction of Londonderr~'
cogeneration facility at Londonderry, NH.

Directed hydrological studies to delineate the \vatcrshed
basin and corresponding storm \vater runoff associated
with the cogeneration facility site and to determine peak
flows during storms. Designed outflow structures and
detention pond facilities to maintain proper discharge
rate. Designed an underground drainage system to
relie\'e uplift pressures and control ground\V'ater level
during cons truction.

Principal Geotechnical Engineer, Crete Generating
Station, Crete Energy Venture, LLC, Crete, IL,
03/2001- 04/2001. The project designed and
constructed power generation station at Crete, II..

Directed hydrological and hydraulic analyses for drainage
through and adjacent to the site and designed a
detention pond to detain the disturbed sediment and
control the post-development discharge rate within an

SHAW ENVIRONMENTAL, INC.

OGC 122006T

allowable release rate. Cuh-erts were sized to cOl1\'ey the
site drainage across the access road offsite.

Principal Geotechnical Engineer, Rail Spur, Big
Brown Steam Electric Station, Texas Utility, TX,
09/1997 - 04/2001. The 2S-miles Big Brown Rail Spur
in Taxes was designed and constructed. Rail
embankment, drainage facilities and the associated
erosion protection were designed.

Directed designs of drainage cuh-ert structures and
trestles for a new 2S-mile rail spur. Predicted 2S-year
and 100-year peak flows at stream crossings. Computed
backwater flow and the sizing of drainage facilities.
Calculated erosion potential and designed erosion
protection measures. Determined flooding boundaries
upstream and downstream of the rail to meet hydraulic
design requirements. Designed an underground
drainage system for dewatering of coal pile storage area.

i\ll drainage flows at stream crossings meet FEJ\L\
requirements and eliminate el1\'ironmental impact.

JONG-CHIANG SHIAU

4
