POINT OF CONTACT TELEPHONE NUMBER
(612) 761-3726

When the Target Corporation wanted to expand
their store in Deerfield Beach, Florida, an area
with limited available local property, the most
profitable solution was to tear down the existing
store and build a two-story expansion in its place.
Since the new Target -- the first two-story Target
store in Florida -- would require more parking
space than was available on the property,
Kimley-Horn was retained to design an adjacent
two-level parking facility.

II

--~

,~- ". -

The parking deck has three open stair towers,
one enclosed stair tower, and one elevator.
Automobile access to the elevated parking level
is provided by an external speed ramp that is a
combination of both precast and cast-in-place
components. Precast concrete facades were
detailed to match the exterior facade of the new
two-story Target.

The design consists of one elevated parking level constructed of precast concrete and one at-grade parking level, all within a
footprint measuring 372 by 252 feet. The elevated precast concrete deck is supported by cast-in-place concrete foundations, while
the lower-level parking surface is a concrete slab-on-grade. From the deck's second level, a connecting pedestrian bridge provides
access to the store. Cost: $3.25 million.

Size: 600 spaces, 7.75-acre site

25.
