' 2. Immediately on delivery, inspect shipments to assure compliance with requirements of Contract Documents and approved submittals, and that Products ' are properly protected and undamaged. B. Provide equipment and personnel to handle Products by methods to prevent soiling or ' damage to Products or packaging. 1.06 STORAGE AND PROTECTION ' A. The Contractor shall furnish a covered, weather protected storage structure providing a clean, dry, non - corrosive environment for all mechanical equipment, valves, electrical and ' instrumentation equipment, and special equipment to be incorporated into this project. Storage of equipment shall be performed to allow easy access and be in strict accordance with the "instructions for storage" of each equipment supplier and manufacturer including ' weather /humidity protection, connection of heaters, placing of storage lubricants in equipment, blocking, or skid storage, etc. Corroded, damaged or deteriorated equipment and parts shall be replaced before acceptance of the project. Equipment and materials not properly stored will not be included in a payment estimate. tB. Store Products in accordance with manufacturer's instructions, with seals and labels intact and legible. ' 1. Store products subject to damage by the elements in weather -tight enclosures. ' 2. Maintain temperature and humidity within the ranges required by manufacturer's instructions. ' 3. Store fabricated products above the ground on blocking or skids, prevent soiling or staining. Cover products which are subject to deterioration with impervious sheet coverings, provide adequate ventilation to avoid condensation. ' 4. Store loose granular materials in a well drained area on solid surfaces to prevent mixing with foreign matter. ' 5. All unlabeled or improperly labeled materials shall be removed from the project site. ' C. All materials and equipment to be incorporated in the work shall be handled and stored by the Contractor before, during, and after shipment in a manner to prevent warping, twisting, bending, breaking, chipping, rusting, and any injury, theft or damage of any kind ' whatsoever to the material or equipment. D. Cement, sand and lime shall be stored under a roof and off the ground and shall be kept ' completely dry at all times. All structural and miscellaneous steel, and reinforcing steel shall be stored off the ground or otherwise to prevent accumulations of dirt or grease, and to minimize rusting. Brick, block and similar masonry products shall be handled and ' stored in a manner to reduce breakage, chipping, cracking, and spalling to a minimum. E. Moving parts shall be rotated a minimum of once weekly to insure proper lubrications and ' to avoid metal -to -metal "welding ".
