' 2. Immediately on delivery, inspect shipments to assure compliance with <br />requirements of Contract Documents and approved submittals, and that Products <br />' are properly protected and undamaged. <br />B. Provide equipment and personnel to handle Products by methods to prevent soiling or <br />' damage to Products or packaging. <br />1.06 STORAGE AND PROTECTION <br />' A. The Contractor shall furnish a covered, weather protected storage structure providing a <br />clean, dry, non - corrosive environment for all mechanical equipment, valves, electrical and <br />' instrumentation equipment, and special equipment to be incorporated into this project. <br />Storage of equipment shall be performed to allow easy access and be in strict accordance <br />with the "instructions for storage" of each equipment supplier and manufacturer including <br />' weather /humidity protection, connection of heaters, placing of storage lubricants in <br />equipment, blocking, or skid storage, etc. Corroded, damaged or deteriorated equipment <br />and parts shall be replaced before acceptance of the project. Equipment and materials not <br />properly stored will not be included in a payment estimate. <br />tB. Store Products in accordance with manufacturer's instructions, with seals and labels intact <br />and legible. <br />' 1. Store products subject to damage by the elements in weather -tight enclosures. <br />' 2. Maintain temperature and humidity within the ranges required by manufacturer's <br />instructions. <br />' 3. Store fabricated products above the ground on blocking or skids, prevent soiling <br />or staining. Cover products which are subject to deterioration with impervious <br />sheet coverings, provide adequate ventilation to avoid condensation. <br />' 4. Store loose granular materials in a well drained area on solid surfaces to prevent <br />mixing with foreign matter. <br />' 5. All unlabeled or improperly labeled materials shall be removed from the project <br />site. <br />' C. All materials and equipment to be incorporated in the work shall be handled and stored by <br />the Contractor before, during, and after shipment in a manner to prevent warping, <br />twisting, bending, breaking, chipping, rusting, and any injury, theft or damage of any kind <br />' whatsoever to the material or equipment. <br />D. Cement, sand and lime shall be stored under a roof and off the ground and shall be kept <br />' completely dry at all times. All structural and miscellaneous steel, and reinforcing steel <br />shall be stored off the ground or otherwise to prevent accumulations of dirt or grease, and <br />to minimize rusting. Brick, block and similar masonry products shall be handled and <br />' stored in a manner to reduce breakage, chipping, cracking, and spalling to a minimum. <br />E. Moving parts shall be rotated a minimum of once weekly to insure proper lubrications and <br />' to avoid metal -to -metal "welding ".
