SECTION 02210 <br />FINE GRADING <br />PART1 GENERAL <br />1.01 SCOPE OF WORK <br />A. Provide all labor, materials, necessary equipment or services to complete the Fine <br />Grading work, as indicated on the drawings, as specified herein or both, except as for <br />items specifically indicated as "NIC ITEMS ". <br />1.02 RELATED WORK <br />A Section 02481 - Shrub and Tree Relocation <br />B. Section 02484 - Soil Preparation and Soil Mixes <br />C. Section 02487 - Sodding <br />D. Section 02490 - Trees, Plants, and Groundcovers <br />1.03 SITE INSPECTION <br />A. The Contractor shall visit the site and acquaint himself with all existing conditions. The <br />Contractor shall be responsible for his own subsurface investigations, as necessary, to <br />satisfy requirements of this Section. All subsurface investigations shall be performed <br />only under time schedules and arrangements approved in advance by the Landscape <br />Architect or Owner's Representative. <br />1.04 EXISTING CONTOURS <br />A. The existing grades shown on the drawings are approximate only (within + 2 inches) and <br />the contractor is responsible for grading to meet existing grades as required. <br />B. The contours and grades established under contract will be the finished grades shown. <br />The Contractor under this Contract shall perform the work for construction using the <br />finished grades previously established and making whatever corrections and /or repairs to <br />grades to make them consistent with the requirements of the drawings and specifications. <br />C. Established finished grades shall be approved by the Landscape Architect for all project <br />areas prior to initiating landscape planting. <br />1.05 UTILITIES <br />A. Before starting site operations verify that the earlier contractors have disconnected all <br />temporary utilities that might interfere with the fine grading work. <br />B. Locate all existing, active utility lines traversing the site and determine the requirements <br />for their protection. Preserve in operating condition all active utilities adjacent to or <br />transversing the site that are designated to remain. <br />1 12/04 02210 -1 04 -4801 <br />
