improvements for FDOT along this corridor <br />north and south of Miramar Parkway. The <br />proposed streetscape improvements include <br />enhancement of the pedestrian corridor to <br />encourage safe pedestrian traffic for <br />adjacent commercial and office uses. The <br />design also calls for consolidated parking <br />areas rather than replacing backout parking <br />in front of businesses for the safety of both <br />the pedestrian and automobile traffic and to <br />improve the operation of the street and the <br />aesthetics of the streetscape. <br />Plantation Preserve & Golf Club - This <br />is a 213 -acre project which involves the <br />City's acquisition of the former Plantation <br />Golf Club and the subsequent design of an <br />Audubon - certified par 72 championship golf <br />course incorporating a linear trail <br />recreational component within the center of <br />the proposed golf course. Funding for this <br />project was secured through the Florida <br />Communities Trust (FCT), the Broward <br />County Open Space Fund and the sale of <br />on -site created wetland credits.
