' MILLER�`�EGG Fernando Cano, El Project Engineer Professional Experience: Mr. Cano joined Miller Legg as a Project Engineer in 2004 in the firm's South Florida office. He is responsible for water distribution systems, sanitary sewer and stormwater design and modeling, site grading and various agency permitting. Relevant Project Experience: Cabbage Palm Wetland Restoration Plan - A wetland restoration project located in Martin County for the U.S. Department of Agriculture - Natural Resources Conservation Service. The project consists of 506 acres of ditches and levee which have changed the historical hydrology. The project objective is to restore the hydrology within the site boundary as close to its pre- drained condition with the installation of control structure, which will prevent adverse effects to surrounding off -site properties. New Testament Baptist Church - A 160 -acre Master Development Plan in the Town of Southwest Ranches requiring water management analyses and master utility design and permitting for an elementary and middle school expansion. The master plan included a new worship hall, gymnasium, multi -use ball fields and a passive park. Memorial Hospital Miramar - A 124 - acre site located in the City of Miramar. The campus -style project includes medical office buildings, maintenance facilities and outparcel facilities. Services provided for both on -site and related off - site improvements include: site planning, platting, surveying, civil engineering, landscape architecture, irrigation design, environmental risk management, consumptive water use permitting and environmental permitting. Project management, planning, expert witness and cost estimating services have also been provided for the Hospital's Certificate of Need process. Off -site improvements include the design and construction of a one -mile section of new roadway connecting Pembroke Road. Miller Legg's services also included preparation of the Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) for NPDES permitting. Award: Best of 2005 Award of Merit - Health Care, Southeast Construction, 2005 SFWMD Miscellaneous Engineering Services - Through a three year contract, Miller Legg provided miscellaneous engineering consulting support services to the South Florida Water Management District. Services included: civil engineering, structural engineering, water resources engineering, mechanical, geotechnical and environmental engineering. Other services included: architectural, land surveying, electrical engineering, landscape architecture, emergency management and engineering economic studies. Broward County Owner's Representative Contract - Miller Legg provided Owner's Representative Services for Broward County District Seven Parks; Secret Woods Nature Center and Easterlin Park. Responsibilities included management of the procurement, permitting and construction repairs and replacement of existing Park elements. The Parks are located in the Cities of Dania Beach and Oakland Park. Program elements include: exotics removal, reforestation, boardwalk repairs and replacement, roof repairs and replacement, campground improvements and water, sewer and drainage improvements. Monterra Development (Waldrep /TOUSA Homes Parcel) - This 526 -acre parcel is one of the last large remaining tracts of vacant unincorporated land in southwest Broward County.
